So if the 2014 film made a $92M profit off of $529M then how do you figure KOTM would break even at $400M??? Considering it'll make $80M+ less domestically and it cost more to make. Your numbers don't make much sense.

On the plus said, seems to have crossed $366 million worldwide and they've extended the theatrical run in China to the end of July. Not sure if it's now making a profit but it seems like this is turning into a slow burn. And it also could make some real money when it hits Blu-ray.

Godzilla Is Coming To San Diego Comic-Con For The First Time Ever

Quote:
For the first time, Godzilla will have a dedicated booth at the San Diego Comic-Con. The iconic kaiju is celebrating his 65th anniversary this year.

TOHO Studios, the company behind Godzilla, announced today it will be hosting a dedicated booth to the giant monster at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. A number of activities will be present for fans to engage in. First, there will be a green screen photo booth for "unique social posts" using #Godzilla65. There will be "a live mural painting" done by Godzilla artist Shinji Nishikawa. (Nishikawa designed a number of monsters in the franchise, such as Kiryu and Grand King Ghidorah.) TOHO will also be featuring the actual suit used in Godzilla 2000, along with props from throughout the movies. Fans will want to save some cash, because there will be SDCC exclusive products. There will also be "giveaways, photo opportunities and much more gargantuan fun", according to TOHO.

Kind of reminds me of a large version of the creatures from Mimic.

Bandai released a number of Fusion Series figures. All were the same molds as previous versions, but in translucent vinyl w/ glitter. I don't believe G'54 was one of them. (They did G'68, G'95, and G2K, in addition to several other kaiju.)

Quote:
According to TOHO, the figure is 6.5 inches tall, and features "accurate sculpting in a limited edition translucent flake vinyl with added paint treatments for enhanced realism. " Collectors will be happy to know that the figure comes in a window box.
That certainly sounds like a Fusion Series figure. It is the same G'54 mold they've been using, but I can't see the translucent / glitter effect in the pics.

P.S. For any interested parties, Bandai recently re-released a number of their classic Godzilla vinyl figures. They're $12.99 apiece, exclusively at Walmart. You can get the 1954, 1968, and 2000 versions of Godzilla, as well as Mothra, King Caesar, Mechagodzilla, and King Ghidorah.

I went back to see this again, this time in 'Screen X' (they project the image on the side walls with extra projectors in selected scenes (felt like about 40-50% of the movie) to make it feel more immersive and huge). It was the first thing I'd seen in the format and I wasn't expecting it to be so good honestly, but it was, and this film was perfectly suited to it. Some of the bigger scenes were mind-blowing taking up most of my peripheral vision. I've seen it described as 'sideways IMAX' which seems fair, but the closest thing I would compare it to was wearing a VR headset, only without the feeling of something attached to your head. I'd probably not see a film in this format first time round, but for the right kind of films on repeated viewings I think I'll be doing it again.

Pretty much any time the titans were the focus of the movie it switched to the extra wide view, it worked really well.

Oh, and more on-topic I guess, I enjoyed the film even more this time. I'd still not say it was quite a 5-star film overall for me, but as a cinematic experience it was definitely a very memorable one, I had a great time with it.

Here's hoping that the MonsterVerse really does continue alongside Toho's:
