I know some predicted a snoozefest but Maia vs Askren was good while it lasted. The transitions on the ground between the two at the end of the 2nd round was fun to watch. I thought Askren was slightly ahead in the rounds until he got submitted.

Bad matchup for Jose at this stage of his career imo.

Marlon is younger, faster, just as technical and hits a little harder.

Jose will suck himself dry to make 135 for the first time and not even have that much of a size advantage.

...I don’t like it.

Lot of good fights this weekend, but for some crazy reason Kevin Lee vs Gregor Gillespie is the fight I'm most looking forward to. Gillespie is probably my favorite prospect right now. I hope he beats Lee. I'd really like to see him fight Khabib.

Ben Askren announced his retirement from MMA. His 3 UFC fights were all memorable, just not in his favor...even the Lawler fight. At least he did get one FOTN.
