I can see that you have not read any of the Apple, Roku, Shield and other threads that I have provided links to for you.

Have not followed CES for many years but I believe someone said Sony will not show any new TV’s at CES 2023.
You stay the same with your Name Calling. I don't need any Streaming Devices, I'm connected straight with my Sony Android UHD TV. Sony does need a Gigabit Ethernet Connection, maybe that will be in the coming announcements. For now I have all my Digital Movie Collection and any Streaming Provider I want, except Apple!

Agree but I like the fact that I altered Cat People - used video from the BD and audio from the DVD to make a new MKV. Could not do this with The Sword and the Sorcerer because the BD video was 24p while the DVD is 23.976. I will procure The Emerald Forest again on BD and do the same as I did for Cat People.

We continue to see an amazing number of titles being released on disc. I don't know that there has ever been a better time for physical media enthusiasts.
It is pretty amazing the number of catalog titles making their way to BD and UHD BD. Have several more titles on order from Screen Archives.

No name calling, you do that to yourself. Look at all the other post in response to your post. People know a troll post when they see one.

Make you a deal - delete your post and I will delete my response.

On the bigger topic of what do I think about physical media now, I have to say recent buys have been great fun to watch.

House of the Dragon was outstanding

Smile, Pearl, Terrifier 2, Don't Worry Darling were all amazing

Great time to get into Physical Media, it's not too late. Physical Media is where the fun is.

Watching Smile tomorrow evening.

You stay the same with your provocations.

All the more reason for you not to "concern" yourself about disc players or the discs themselves; you have no stake in either.

The same thing with me. There's already so much out there that I've often overlooked many titles, and sometimes only discover them a year or two after they've been released, or when somebody here recommends them.

I get a bit of a day off from purchasing over at VS since I already have two titles that are being offered there that I previously purchased via the BF sale. I do recommend Resurrection from today's 10 for $10, though.

I'm still marathoning Vikings and am on S4 E17. It was funny that the first three seasons were only 10 episodes each and S4 is a whopping 20 episodes. I guess when the rights shifted from National Geographic over to whomever picked it up they increased the order.

I quite enjoyed Smile but I'll wait for a sale to pick up the 4K.

Have my tickets to see M3GAN tomorrow. Love James Wan and most Blumhouse and it is getting stellar reviews so I'm very excited to see it.

I streamed and absolutely loved THE MENU the other night.

The 4K DV and compressed ATMOS presentation looked and sounded amazing on my system. I'll skip the 1080p/ 7.1 bluray and wait for someone to put out a UHD.

Hoping this gets a U.K. Blu. I understand the U.S disc is locked.

The Menu was fun, but did have a couple things I didn't care for. Watched it on HBO MAX in HD/5.1.

Are you not region free?

At any rate, hopefully this will be like X and we can import a UHD from some other country.

No pun intended, but THE MENU looks and sounds delicious streaming. It deserves a UHD release as it's creators took great care with the A/V presentation.... the narrative is quite delicious too.

Just blind bought Giant 4K disc on Amazon for $11.49. Seems like it coudl be good It's an expansive western tale of some sort. The price was right, so that helped.

It's a great movie and a genuine classic of cinema.

It won the Oscar for best director and it was nominated for nine more including Best Picture.

Wrapped up Vikings S5. Crazy that I was under assumption that it would be another 20 episode order for the season like season 4 was, but it was not - just 10 episodes.

I love winter. Finished Scarface at 7:30 PM, watching almost the whole three hours in total darkness. Summer, I'm lucky if I can get a two hour movie in as the sun sets at 8:30 PM and not get really sleepy or annoy the neighbors.
