Picked up Kingsman last week. Hope it’s better than The Golden Circle. I loved the first Kingsman film but boy, was that sequel disappointing. Bloated and disjointed.

I haven't seen the first two. Saw the third one in theaters and liked it so I figured I'd check out the earlier movies. I guess it kind of works since the third was a prequel.

The first film felt fresh and had plenty of spark with a couple of superb action sequences. Loved the cast as well.

The sequel had too many cameos and lacked the focus of the first.

Glad you enjoyed the new one, looking forward to viewing sometime in the next couple of months.

Picture quality is not good on the earlier ones, but damn they sound great. Also top tier movies.

I loved King's Man. Regret not seeing it in theaters but when it was released here there were no premium screens for it. They screwed it just like they screwed Last Duel and then, viola, we get some killer 4K editions.

I watched The Pale Blue Eye on Netflix last night and I really enjoyed it. Scott Cooper is a hit and miss director. I love Hostiles but hated Antlers. The 4K DV/Atmos was stellar. I can only hope this makes it to 4K disc, but I doubt it. Stellar cinematography and production design are on full display.

Also, The Hateful Eight Extended Edition leaves Netflix on 1/25.

Good to read, I really enjoyed The Last duel by the way.

My life would be easier if I could do this... but I absolutely can't.

Not only can I never watch a new installment of a franchise unless I've seen all previous movies, as I get older and my memory fades, I find myself needing to marathon all of them before.

I've still not seen the latest Rocky movie, or any of the CREED franchise as I've avoided seeing Rocky 5.It seems that I've always got something better to watch or rewatch than what I understand is a real stinker. What's worse, is that I own Rocky 5 on more than one format.

I really liked Hostiles too, but I did in fact enjoy Antlers. It was not a perfect movie, but the kid was what got me into it. Good cinematography also. Pale Blue Eye is definitely on my radar if and when a physical release pops up.

You are missing out. Balboa and both Creeds are quality (especially the first Creed)

I liked both but thought Hostiles was better. Antlers had great cinematography and atmosphere, but the story kind of fell flat for me. I'd definitely buy it if it gets a release on disc.

Here it is called “The Delivered”, watched via Prime Video about a year ago. Liked but not enough to add to collection but I hope you enjoy it.

For a “dead format” there is a plethora of catalog titles being announced or released on Blu-ray or UHD Blu-ray. I have 4 more older westerns on order from Screen Archives. Never thought I would see so many catalog titles released on Blu-ray. Have these arriving today from Amazon:

Had “The Emerald Forest” a few years back but sold as the sound track was almost mono like “Cat People”. I will do for Emerald Forest what I did for Cat People, make a MKV of the Blu-ray video and a MKV of the DVD audio and combine them for a new MKV.

Americans don’t like Fanny?

Thanks, apparently it looks fantastic. Will report back.

Guys, I had a wild crazy dream involving Blu-ray.com last night, I didn't know where else to post this but I instantly thought I just had to share this with y'all

So, in my dream I was casually browsing this website, when I discovered a (completely fictional) Rated R, hand-drawn animated, apparently nightmarishly ultraviolent film from the year 1998 that happens to be called "Prince of Darkness" (having no other resemblance in the slightest to its real counterpart bearing the same name), which involved a massive multimedia crossover of pretty much every and all existing (and possibly future at the time!) cartoon characters and properties to that date having to join forces to stop and defeat specifically Ed Bighead from Rocko's Modern Life, of all characters,
[Show spoiler]who for some reason turns out to be the Antichrist and is massacring everybody in a temper tantrum.
It was a gigantic movie, far higher in scope and possibly budget than anything Disney was putting out at the moment, even though some of its biggest events take place in a glacier, complete with What's Up Danger from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse quite fittingly playing in the trailer, despite said Spider-Man film not existing for another 20 years at the time. It had some of the most magnificent and impressive animation at the time, very fluid and expressive, in the vein of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, which I guess helped exacerbate the atrocities that the film would display on-screen. Mario from Super Mario Bros. was also there among many other,
[Show spoiler]at one point in the trailer being held up high over a fiery chasm possibly by psychic forces, panicking as he was being morphed into a golden sword???
Also the film was going to even have side plots and multiple villains, as suggested by the presence of Ruber from Quest for Camelot,
[Show spoiler]who in a fight in the middle of a stormy ocean, had half of one of his arms turned into stone so he couldn't swim, and was left to sink.
I was all like "omg how come I never paid any attention to this one I want it now," and the whole shenanigan was a complete riot, as you may discern from my description... Unfortunately, I couldn't get to see the end of it as the alarm clock quickly interrupted my dream in order to get up from bed and start my day.

It turns out that in my dream, it was apparently one of the very first 4K UltraHD Blu-ray discs to be released to the public, with a date of February 14, 2016 according to the fictional Blu-ray.com database entry, and it was released in a 4K+3D (that's right!) SteelBook combo pack. Of course, the Blu-ray reviewer, probably misunderstanding the format still on its infancy and its purpose, gave the 4K picture quality a 2.5 out of 5 on the basis alone that the movie was traditional animation, and therefore what was the point of even bothering to release it on 4K UltraHD Blu-ray in the first place despite being a truly pristine, DNR-free 35mm filmout transfer with a spectacular and balanced HDR10 grade, generous but not exaggerated, and also having Dolby Atmos audio. It was hard to tell at first that the movie was animated, because the SteelBook's front cover was in similar style to the animated DC movies' home video covers, and it also had Aquaman in it among others. Finally, the label that handled the release (can't remember which exactly) suggested that the film might have been independently produced and distributed... Everything was madness altogether.

So I'm on Vikings S6 E12 and when I had gone back into Amazon PRIME to resume where I left off it appears Amazon no longer had Vikings the complete series. They only have S1 - S4. This is all as of last night sometime since I watched some right before bed. I had to check the Just Watch app to see who else had it and it looks like HULU still has them all in 2.0 and now Peacock has the series in 5.1. I have resumed via Peacock. That was a close one.

Interesting they dropped only the last two seasons. Does that sort of thing just happen or is there some sort of forewarning? I apologize for my ignorance of the ins and outs of streaming.
