There were quite a lot of sales done with the kitano sale, and unfortunately terracotta is literally 1 guy who also has a day job and 3 kids, so it's taking a little longer than usual to pack up everything and bring them to the post office. Please bear with him.

They take a little longer to get stuff out the door and if in a massive hurry for something it may not be the wisest to use them but at the same time I would rather give my money to someone who clearly loves Asian cinema and is a little slower than Amazon or Arrow whose main interest is making as much money as possible. If Brexit hadn't made purchasing from the UK such a nightmare I'd use Terracotta for almost all my TWF purchases.

It would go with the TWF DVDs you have. Anyway it is worth getting for films that would probably not have got an English friendly release if it wasn't for said release.

Saw Hiruko the Goblin last night on TWF's blu.
Shinya Tskukamoto is generally known for his hyper-violent and/or bleak and alienating surreal narratives. While Hiruko the Goblin aka Yokai Hunter: Hiruko has its spider/crab demons, beheadings and arterial sprays, it also has a PG-rated boys' adventure type innocent quality to it. The bumbling yet brave archaeologist demon-hunter protagonist (Kenji Sawada, Happiness of the Katakuris) makes for a likable hero, the narrative is a straight-forward adventure, and the animatronics and VFX are wonderful. This (Toho) studio-produced film is not as much spoken of as his more extreme indie features, and perhaps less well-regarded by the hardcore Tsukamoto fans, but I had a really good time with it. The blu-ray features strong video quality, especially with regards to the film's lush color palette. Audio is limited (mono), but there are no technical drawbacks on the disc. I saw all the extras other than the Tom Mes commentary. There is one new and one (short) archival interview with ST, in which he definitely shows a fondness for the film and wonders what path he might have taken as a film-maker if it had been commercially successful. He seems quite pleased that it has found revived interest among fans. There are also 2 interesting short archival pieces covering the making of the animatronic FX. The slipcover has some kickass comic book cover style art, different from the case cover, so fans are advised to jump on and get this release with the slip. ![]() |

^As an addendum to the above review, I did hear the Tom Mes commentary, which was decent, though his laid back delivery sometimes had me nodding off. He spends a large segment of the commentary detailing the Kojiki legend that served as a source inspiration for some of the mythology of the film. He tries to convince us that Hiruko was a very personal project for Tsukamoto. I can't say I'm very convinced of that, since it was a project that came to him rather than something he canvassed for, but of course he did an immensely professional and involved job of it (kinda like Tobe Hooper and Poltergeist), and the utterly opposing look and feel this movie has compared to the previous Tetsuo shows what a versatile film-maker ST was and it would have been wonderful if he had tackled a few more adventure projects like this.

Whilst of course I'll buy TWF's release of FF/TWF, did anyone order Error_4444's release? They're all quiet on social media...
