It was 37 for two blus. And, I think, it was 27 for just the one new film, if you went for that alone and then bought whatever else to get free shipping. Great deals, at least for me.

Bill's business model has always been stop-and-go artificial scarcity. It's annoying, but something I'm willing to deal with because I do like many of Code Red's titles. I ordered a copy tonight not because I think there will be no more available, but because I've wanted to own the film for years and might as well be first in line if I have the opportunity.

This is where I'm going to be honest. I'm done.
I've been on this companies side since Bill went direct. Purchased all the blurays. I've been quiet during all the nonsense. I've purchased stuff as soon as I can. I've been waiting for this title for a long time. I requested it. I asked if I could know what time to be ready. I've jumped through hoops. All I hear are complaints no one ever buys anything when I'm one who buys everything. Did I get a copy of this title? No. Never knew the time to go online was told eventually will be posted. Guys guess what. I have a job. This week, it sucked. it posted randomly at 11:30 at night here. Seeing as I wake up at 5 every day. I fell asleep. Oh well limited edition random 200 for the true fans. Screw this. Sorry I can't stay up all day for a random few copies to come available. Why does this company do this? Why am I treated like crap for being a supporter? I'm a teacher. Odds are after a long week, I won't be up at random night hours to get the 5 copies that are posted online. You don't want me to buy anything of yours anymore. I guess the money I put aside can go elsewhere. Thanks for caring about your fans Code Red/ Dark Force. Keep complaining and treating everyone that actually cares like shit. honestly, though, done with jumping through hoops. If its easily available I'll get it, if not, I'm not saving for it anymore. I'm no longer going to be a cheerleader and ignore the crap. -Mark |

My guess is, as I've said before, that David has to mail all his orders out, most likely, by himself or with one other person, which is a lot of work, as I'm sure you can imagine. In order to maintain the stellar shipping of Dark Force, DD has to blaze through printing, packaging and shipping all of the orders within two days and, for clarity, he often gets it done faster than that. Then, when he's caught up, he opens the store again, selling not only his stock but Bill's. Of course, right now, it is still up, which means, he hasn't reached capacity... yet. However, Bill probably thought it would take a week or two or even three to get to 200 being sold, so he only offered 200, upfront, with DD writing out that check, upfront, 200 after those sold, then another, and so on, without realizing the demand was this high. Also, worth repeating, DD has to write that check. They are working really well together, doing a wonderful job of getting both of their individual releases sold and sent out on a site that actually works with surprisingly good shipping and entertaining live feeds to boot. But, again, that check has to be written and stock has to be exchanged for it. Now that they sold so many, Bill may offer more at a time but you can't expect David, who is just one businessman, to offer up the money for, let's say, 1000 copies on day one. There isn't enough staff for that. That's just too much to ask. I should add that, if Bill had to sell these, by himself, the task of mailing out 1000 orders could wreck him, or worse. The fact that DD is handling distribution is keeping Bill in a position to actually get these films out for us, so I hope you will reconsider how you currently feel about Dark Force. Without it, I don't know how Bill would be handling everything. It sucks getting older. I'm really sorry you have to wait. I'd be annoyed if I had to, after sitting here checking the thing throughout the day and then constantly after getting him. It would bug me. However, this will be back in stock really soon. Dark Force just has to hit repeat on the deal with Code Red and re-up for another 200. In the meantime, if you don't want to pay shipping, it is a good time to select what you'd want to go with it. People keep forgetting that, if you arrange with a friend who likes these films to pick up whatever single release they want, you both score free shipping. Good luck. I hope this makes you feel a little better. |

Nope. I teach 4th grade. The lowest grade I've taught is 2nd grade and they were too little. It's fun at 9 and 10. The kids are still at the age where they somewhat enjoy coming to school, but they are now educated enough to have interesting conversations about books.
2nd grade was all, the books good. I like it. LOL |

I'm sorry but this is not how business should be done. Open the damn store. Then ship the orders out as swiftly as possible. This stop and go nonsense makes me just want to spend my money with other labels that have availability.
You can't tease a title as long as it was and then sell out immediately. It's frustrating to customers and you clearly left money on the table that could have been earned. |

Some of you guys are, I'm not sure if acting is the right word, behaving, emoting possibly, as though you think this is like VS, listing their own title, which is fully owned and in their possession, lock stock and all of that, and fully within their rights to sell, down to the last copy, if they want. This is not anything like that situation. For Dark Force, with MMII, the VS model of down to the last copy works. With a CR title, DF can't list copies they haven't bought yet. But, with this release, everyone seems to be forgetting that Dark Force is distributing this title, a Code Red title, currently exclusively, the same as when any other store distributes a Code Red title. When Ronin sells out for a time, I don't flip out, except for a few seconds inside my stomach. Just after that, I remember I can wait and then order when they get what I want. Of course, that used to be easier, because I had someone who bought there all the time, so I could piggyback. Now I have to buy on my own, which takes more effort, and, still, if they are sold out, I know I can just come back later. That's how it works. DF will get more copies from CR, just like all the other vendors that work with Bill. Screenarchives gets copies, they go up, they sell out, the listing comes down, and round and round it goes. |

It's not even close to cheerleading. This is just explaining for the freak-out crowd. This really does remind me of Sarah a year or so ago. "Outlander's unavailable! How can it be unavailable? It was released YESTERDAY!" That was so funny in person and she did not appreciate the laughing. But, really, this is just explaining. I think because Bill and DD work closely and have a nice business arrangement, people forget that DF is like any other store, selling stock purchased from a vendor. When Hamilton sells out of a title a day after it goes up, I don't know anyone who gets as upset as some have gotten over this temporary sell-out. "Outlander's unavailable!" Screaming, I'm not kidding.

I usually buy the CR titles as they are released. But no worries as we all know there will be more for sale soon enough. Now the question on my mind is what kind of price games are going to be played with the next batch. If he does what we all expect, and raises the price, I'll probably just sit it out for a few months. Edit: MB. When retailers sell out but know they are getting more, they take BACK ORDERS. |

Lol. She sounds more like an overreaching customer service agent who should've taken up social work instead
![]() Granted, 200 packages is a LOT to mail at one time, especially alone, but Bill doesn't have to schlep to a Post Office - the USPS has a pick up service. Most online retailers use it. No, opening the store at some random time late at night and having only 200 copies available is definitely a sad gimmick. It's like announcing The Farmer, playing mind games for months, then finally opening the store at 1:23 AM and having "only" 100 copies available, most of which will picked up by scalpers looking to make a quick buck on ebay. They think it's fun but what they're really doing is alienating loyal customers. ![]() |

More copies will go up once the first 225 are packed, don't worry they do want to make money after all.
Remember this can go both ways for Dark Force. I am sure for instance Steel Arena isn't burning up the sales charts. DF probably didn't expect the response they got on this one, it's by far their fastest selling title by a mile. I was even surprised, I wasn't sure folks here still had it in them to move that many copies that fast - but it's great to see true enthusiasm for a movie and not just a slipcover, custom box, or some trinket. No bullshit, people just wanted the movie for their collection. Nice to see. Follow DF on Facebook and IMO you'll have no problem getting this relatively soon. |
