Glad you were able to score a copy. I'm not a huge steelbook fan, but I couldn't pass this one up. The artwork is gorgeous. I wish there was a litho of it.

Also, this looks great next to Shout's steelbooks for Halloween II & III and the steelbook for Halloween '18 with the comic con art.

Just rewatched this in the cinema, and Lionsgate don’t handle theatrical rights (at least in the UK) - the image looks a little desaturated and not as sharp as it could be. Does anyone know if this was the 4K remaster or an older master? CineLife Entertainment were reissuing it.

Also, is the Carpenter/Lee Curtis commentary worth anything vs. the Carpenter/Lee Curtis/Hill commentary from the Criterion laserdisc and older Blu-ray?

Halloween just wasn't the same this year because there were no kids out for trick or treat due to the pandemic. I have a lot of candy left over, so I'll just take it to work tomorrow for my coworkers eat it because, I can't eat all of that candy by myself. I have to watch my blood sugar levels to prevent diabetes.

It’s Slimdude candy—it’s just candy corn, circus peanuts and Boston baked beans.

Welp... There goes any desire I had to get it from Best Buy's Black Friday sale. I don't have a UHD compatible drive, so I can't mux in Laserdisc audio to an MKV I'd rip of it, but even if I could, I don't think that I have a device and program powerful/capable enough to do 4K HDR for an MKV.

I thought 4K HDR MKVs were pretty light, though. The crappy GT 1030 I had in my HTPC (which became useless after I moved my home theater to my gaming PC) could almost play them without hiccups. They were infrequent.

Yup. Finally bit on this upgrade for $7.99 via Best Buy late last night.

Wish they would’ve started movie sales a little earlier than usual for the holidays so that I could’ve watched this in time for the titular holiday last week. Oh well, it’ll be a hotly anticipated title to watch in time for October next year. At least I have it in my collection along with the complete BD set.

Does anyone else have an issue while watching the film in Dolby Vision on a Panasonic DP-UB450EB-K where the letterbox bars keep flickering?
