I went to my local Paradigm dealer Friday and placed my order, which means I'll be joining the ranks of Paradigm owners soon.
![]() Studio 100s (gloss black) Millennia 30 (center) (I wanted the CC-690 but the WAF dictated a wall mount as the 690 was too large and not aesthetically pleasing) ![]() SA-ADP (L/R surrounds) SA-30 (rear surrounds) SVS PC13-Ultra and PC12-Plus for my subs. |

Design wise, they do look like a step down below the Studio's. They actually look like they're suppose to be situated between the Studio's and Monitors! Disappointing really! I wonder what speakers I should go to now, if I decide it upgrade? Any suggestions? Last edited by AudioWarrior; 09-16-2014 at 12:42 AM. |

Deltadube is right that it ultimately comes down to how it sounds. Looks is all about personal preference. I just personally think the boxy design makes it look a step down from Studios, but the gloss dark garnet finish is very similar to the 30th anniversary speakers which looked awesome. It's hard to base opinions of sound off of a few people from another forum, but just on looks alone, I'm going to get the Studio 100s now. I've already demoed them and know that I like them.

Will do! Well kinda... My first step is to get the Studio 100s and then when I saved enough, I'll get a power amp. Probably won't get 2 mono blocks because of price and space, but I think a good 2 channel power amp with good clean power will do the trick. Once everything is set up, I'll will be using my AVR as a pre amp for the next little bit until I can save up for a nice one. One step at a time haha

Yeah I'm looking at Emotiva's since they seem to offer the best bang for your buck. I use my system for movies too, so the XPA5 seems to be the best bet. 200 watts of continuous power at 8 ohms seems pretty good.

it made over my denon... going to the mono blocks was not as big of a jump.. but still improved the sq. adding the xsp 1 pre amp brought a lot of refinement to the sound another jump up!!! .. im just a novice.. but I like it... cheers |

I also purchased the XPA5 and I only plan on using my Onkyo to power my two rear surrounds. I wanted to go with the XPA5 and 2, but I'd spent enough money as it was on the speakers, AV cabinet, TV, AVR, cables, etc. ![]() |
