The 70s are nice towers I watched parts of Dark Knight on them, good bass, they do sound better on an amp the a reciever. Regarding def tech... the 2000 series is nice, th rest lack IMO. Anyways consider my PM, and get back to me. |

for the money there are better subs then the Energy subs, IMO. Their news ones are even worse then what they had before. Buy an elemental designs sub

i like the energy speakers today and i think for the special price was a great deal. so you think i should keep what i got. not sure about going back to bookshelfs or sat speakers. had them for years and moved up to towers and have not been happier. |

If a blu-ray player like PS3 upscales dvds (I assume it does) but is connected to the receiver via HDMI, is the upscaled video sent to the display or does the connection from blu-ray to receiver have to be analog? Is content streamed from netflix also upscaled by the PS3?
I see that some receivers have the ability to upscale but only analog to HDMI while high end receivers like the Marantz SR5005 have the ability to upscale HDMI to HDMI? Would the HDMI to HDMI upscaling be useful in a situation where 720p is transmitted to the receiver via HDMI from a device like apple tv? Would it also come into play when streaming standard definition netflix content via HDMI connection to the receiver? |

Now your CF30s will appreciate the added power you give them. I heard them with a Pioneer Elite and the bass is quite impressive with the VSX-23 and the Denon 2310. However, the Denon 1611 and the Yamaha 667, both will not produce the amount of watts/ch that they state, they just don't draw enough current to the receiver to output that much power. So in that price range, you can't expect high output levels. I know that the recent Sony DN1000 and DN1010 have been tested to higher levels then the Pioneers and Yamahas pushing out about 66 wpc when driving 5 or more, which in the price range is pretty close to the top of the performance chart. Sonys have very good video processing and usually have the least amount of issue with software. Something you can consider. |

i thought maybe with def tech i could atleast sell all my dali's and my svs sub and just go with the def tech cause of the built in subs. i guess i am trying to make it simple and easy. not too worried about having the best brand or the best sound. just something i can enjoy with HT. my brother inlaw just bought the exact same setup in PSB as i had. he really like it at my old house. so he wanted more than just a sat system, so he bought the whole setup and kept his cambridge SW 15" mega sub. sometime i miss my psb speakers and wish i had stuck with them and sold the dali towers instead. oh well, live and learn i will keep you up on what happens, take care |

Well guys, since I got the job I was waiting for I went ahead and celebrated and purchased the RC-LCR off of Ebay for the 370 and free shipping. I figured I wouldn't find it much cheaper than that so I went ahead and got it. I had some Christmas money from good old dad and used some of it.
