I would question though.... whether the disappointment with the technical error outweighs everything else????

Do you watch films to be entertained, educated, appreciation purposes, escapism, etc..... or do you watch them for analytical purposes, counting the number of specks you can find in the Joan of Arc print?

We shouldn't settle for mediocrity, so I don't want to suggest that....... but there is a difference in finding an error (like the Back To The Future audio issue) and saying "Oh, yeah, I noticed that! I thought it was fairly obvious/barely noticeable/whatever" and those who say "This is a travesty! This is unwatchable/Boycott!"
It all depends. There are a large number of audiophiles around these forums. Makes since since it's a Blu-Ray forum. I've grown a little pickier as I've upgraded to progressively higher-end HT components. Though I'm not as sensitive to minor audio issues as many others around here.

Not to derail the thread, but what audio issue was there with the BTTF trilogy release?

I just watched the first two a couple of weeks ago and didn't notice anything, but then again...I wasn't "listening for any issues" either.

I really want Criterion to do Little Children and Broken Flowers. Two amazing and underrated films that would be great candidates for a Criterion releases.

Netflix is how I watched it as well.
Also, check out "Dogville," if you haven't already. Since Lars usually shot themed trilogies, it was the first film shot that way on a soundstage with "Manderlay" being the second film in the trilogy. You should have no problem enjoying "Dogville."

Loved Dogville, great acting and no spoilers but a gratifying ending.

Hmm I had forgotten about that one. I read about it in the release thread in the forum I believe, and I always meant to check it out. I'm not sure why I didn't. It's not available on Hulu or Netflix streaming, but they have multiple copies at libraries in my area, I'll have to see it.

Has anyone else checked out their local library for Criterions? I've found numerous titles at my local library including some oop titles like Ran and Tokyo Olympiad. And I've requested several titles so I don't have to drive a considerable distance to pick them up.

Lots of votes in so far. Thanks to those who have participated.

Also, I will delete fraudulent voting. I have my ways of finding crooked voting...

The cover art poll was clean. Let's keep it honest here

So my twenty extra votes don't count?! I'm kidding.

I agree, we do. Although I doubt that our interests in Tom would be that similar, if you were interested. He's got some films coming out that look good, or at least he'll be good. I'm looking forward to War Horse and The Deep Blue Sea. If you ever see Thor he plays Loki.

Wont this likely be the standard price anyway? With it being the barest of barebone releases
