Remember this can go both ways for Dark Force. I am sure for instance Steel Arena isn't burning up the sales charts. DF probably didn't expect the response they got on this one, it's by far their fastest selling title by a mile.

I was even surprised, I wasn't sure folks here still had it in them to move that many copies that fast - but it's great to see true enthusiasm for a movie and not just a slipcover, custom box, or some trinket. No bullshit, people just wanted the movie for their collection. Nice to see.

Exactly right again Ruined. None of the other Code Red new releases we handled even did close to this kind of business so it was totally unexpected for us otherwise we probably would have arranged to have more on hand.

If this happens, the excuse will be “Bananaman upped the price for us, so we have to charge you more”

Even though they had been planning to raise the price the entire time.They received such backlash for the tiered pricing , they had to figure out a way they could still drive the price up and simultaneously take the heat off of themselves while doing it.

Easy, say Bananaman forced you to pay more for the second batch.

I feel like they have been painting BM as extremely difficult to deal with in the last few livestreams and recently on social media for that very reason.

Obviously I have no way of knowing that this is what they’ll do, but it seems entirely in character for them.

Yes, I was able to get my copy of SOAWN from DF, but for those who missed out, I wouldn't worry, probably within a week or less DF will have gotten more. Now if Banana Man raises his price to DF, whose fault would that be if DF has to charge more?

Welp... yet again I try to spend some money on DF and he still can't properly stock a store and keep it up. Guess this money is going elsewhere. Never had so much trouble spending money at an online store in my life. I think I've given up on DF. If they get their new releases out elsewhere, I may buy them, but no more DF store for me.

You can't. DF is playing up the artificial scarcity BS and only listed 200 for sale in the middle of the night. If you wait a few days, you can have the privilege of paying twice as much to an eBay scalper.

The eBay scalpers scored big last night I was checking every hour or two and missed getting a copy by about 15 minutes, why DF didn't limit purchase to 1 per customer until they get more stock is anyone's guess.

As far as this being a DF exclusive, we've all heard that before (think Ronin-exclusive, SAE-exclusive, and DiabolikDVD-exclusive).

More food for thought, the last time MM paused sales on a new release it killed the momentum. But I'm sure if DF/BM doles them out 25 units at a time, they'll sell through FOR YEARS to come. What could have been $20k ($40k?) in the bank by leaving the item up, now becomes a trickle. Business acumen is not to be found here.

Same for me. This was my most anticipated Code Red title, but all this nonsense has turned me off to this company so much that I'm just not even going to bother with it anymore. I'll put my $32 toward releases from other labels who actually treat their customers with respect.

At approximately 8:30 pacific standard time the Dark Force Superstore reopened to a mob of fans looking to grab the most anticipated cult home video release ever SCREAMS OF A WINTER NIGHT on blu-ray. And it lived up to the hype...200 single units and 25 in a bundle deal sold out in a little over 30 minutes making it the biggest debut ever for Dark Force. We have a small staff of creatures packing around the clock at the Dark Force Superstore that are already processing and shipping the large amount of orders. We had no idea this would sell so quickly and are making every effort to maintain our lightning fast shipping and make arrangements to get more inventory from Banana Man. For all those that were not able to get one we apologize and will make every effort to make more available very soon. So please bear with us, we are trying not to overload and ultimately short circuit the store.

DARK FORCE UPDATE ON BIGGEST RELEASE EVER:
This has turned out to be the biggest Dark Force release ever with 200 copies and 25 more in the Shakma bundle selling out in approximately 45 minutes. It appears they sold 225 copies as the 25 bundles weren't apart of the original 200 copies.





There we have it guys, DeFalco claiming the store is closed the majority of the time because they don't have the capacity to maintain their faster than Amazon Prime speed. DF should just leave it to the big boys like RoninFlix.

Yeah, I received Tower of Evil yesterday from Ronin. Easy-peasy.
No BS from Ronin.
But this dynamic-duo is becoming well known for their BS. What nonsense excuses on facebook!

Most of us only expect Amazon-prime shipping speeds from... (wait for it)...Amazon.
Could have cared less if Ronin took 2 weeks to get to me. For all practical purposes, their store is always up and ready for business.

And it's not like I don't have other movies to watch. Hell, most of these new purchases end up in a queue anyway.

With respect, I'm having a hard time believing this was unexpected for you. The number of teases, facebook posts about it coming, false starts, live feed drama. The hype machine was unprecedented for this. There was no such dramatic marketing for Steel Arena, and so there it sits. I think you were firing on all cylinders and created precisely the demand you wanted to.

I think this went according to plan. I guess that's good, but I'd be really careful about alienating your potential customer base.

It's a good movie, not a great one, but people should be able to buy it in a way that makes the shopping experience pleasant.
