I also caught Renfield which was exactly as good as the trailers made it look. Overall a fun weekend at the movies. I will be seeing Evil Dead Rise this Saturday and cannot wait. Easily one of my most anticipated movies this year.

I'll check out Evil Dead at home on 4K (rental disc), because I hated the 2013 release. Fool me once and all that. This new one is actually getting some Dolby Cinema screenings.

I did get tickets for Guy Ritchie's The Covenant, but no premium screens, just AMC Laser.

I bought 4 movies at dollar tree on 2 for $1 sale.

The first 3 came with working movies anywhere hd copy. Art of Self Defense ported to iTunes 4K.

Haven’t seen any of them but always had Megan Leavey on my list. I see Colette has a Blu Ray so if I like it I will most likely upgrade.

We almost skipped the Ratatouille ride but that was also so amazing. 4D. They have 3D video and some things you feel.

You may already know this but Guardians has a virtual que that opens at 7 AM and at 1PM and maybe later. Get the free app and drop a pin where your car parked in your GPS. Most food is $15 and up.

(I am no Disney expert but a few things really help make it easier)

Ratatouille is on our must ride list as well. We went a couple of years ago and had to deal with the virtual queues. We're actually staying at a Universal resort instead of Disney because it's so much cheaper. We got a top tier Universal resort that includes unlimited Fast pass in all Universal parks for cheaper than a basic tier Disney resort.

We did the same thing last time and could still get in the Disney virtual queue at 7 am even though we weren't on Disney property. Hopefully they haven't changed that. I appreciate the tips.

LFE was neutered on the BD. Timestamps to check (9 to 12 minutes). Used to be one of my go to audio demo DVD back in those days.

The new Spears and Munsil benchmark set is up for pre-order:

https://www.biaslighting.com/product...benchmark-2023

$47.95 for the pre-order until May 15, when it starts shipping. I assume it will go back up in price after that.

Ender14 on your Sony L600's are you connected HDMI ARC? I just connected mine this way it suppose to be a better connection than Optical, giving you better Audio with ATMOS. They sound better more richer and vibrant, I'll have to check them out on different Moves and TV Shows!

I just bought the 2013 one a few days ago. Haven't seen it yet. I might just wait for the UHD of the new one too, if it gets one.

Although the original is superior, I still enjoyed the 2013 remake. But then again, I also enjoyed the remake of Old Boy and also liked Quarantine. In each case again, originals are better. REC 1 and 2 blow away Quarantine though and might be my favorite found footage movies if it weren’t for Cloverfield.

Yeah, they've been connected to the HDMI ARC port on my TV since I got them.

Just curious, why did you hate the 2013 one?

It was just a dour exercise in seeing how far the violence and gore could go. I love violence and gore, but the film didn't gel for me at all.

I understand. It was pretty brutal. My wife generally loves horror movies like I do but it was too much for her as well. Needless to say she will not be accompanying me to see Evil Dead Rise .

I doubt it will have anything to top THAT scene in Terrifier 2. Still excited though.

Still haven't seen either Terrifier movie. Trailers didn't really interest me. Are they actually quality movies or is it just basic straight-to-video exploitation fare?

Watch the first one free with ads and decide. I did not like it a lot but it was fine. I like the second one a lot.

The first one is poor, the second one great, but only if you like horror and exploitation. They aren’t well made classics like Halloween, just gorefests with a cool killer clown who might not even be from earth.
