Look if you are allowed to b!tch about how you dislike movies and changes made to them, the directors are allowed to make the changes. You can't have it just your way. If you dilsike the change, just don't purchase the movies, it's not life or death, it's just a movie.
I agree. If you do not like the ice cream, don't buy it. If you do not like the shirt, don't buy it. If you do not like the wine, don't buy it. If you do not like this Blu-ray release of LOTR EE then do not buy it. As quoted above, it's just a movie.

Just looked at those.

I still prefer the EE (more detail) - the color change does not bother me on those shots. I hear what people are saying, but some see it more exaggerated than I do. I think the only ones I've seen that could have been "tweaked" (less green) would be the snow ones. But many of the shots look better with more green (the original one I was talking about).

I think the extra detail on so many of these shots are breath taking and I so look forward to seeing this on my TV.

If so many people had not complained about the excessive DNR in the Theatrical BD for literally months straight it likely would not have received a remaster. Same for Gladiator.

Feedback is important when it comes to improving a product. Sometimes if you don't like something it's better to speak up than to just ignore it.

Complaining might bother people who feel protective for whatever reason about a product or brand name, but much of the time it causes the source of the complaints to be fixed. It serves a more important purpose than just venting frustration. If it annoys you it's probably more reasonable for you to ignore the complaints rather than to expect the complainers to ignore the product.

It is indeed just a movie.

Most people won't notice any difference. That includes people who have seen the FOTR a million times. I doubt I'd notice anything if I never read about it here.

But it is important to voice your opinion. Something that a bunch of people here seem to think is just worthless negativity. Parallels can be drawn to SW.

That's the original color timing. The original presentation had at times strong color biases depending on exactly how Jackson wanted a certain scene to feel (sometimes red, sometimes blue, sometimes green, etc.) rather than just a generic green/teal throughout as the new presentation has.

I have a bone to pick with you! You of all people should recuse yourself from assessing the origin or significance of any bluish/green tint concerning this title….what with wearing those damn goggles that you do every day.

And do not dare tell me that you can make an accurate assessment of the ambient lighting conditions in PJ’s DI suite (third pic from the right) –

Nice attitude... Get whatever is given to you, no questions or complaints about it. You'd be a great asset to any corporate company.

If everybody worked that way, you would be stuck with VHS quality transfers.

What do you care that others do care?

Ironically enough, my caring about the issue does not hurt you at all, but your not caring does indeed hurt my chances of getting the issue fixed.

But that's the way the world works, I guess. People who don't care and can't be bothered to move their asses to do anything about anything always benefit from the work and efforts from those who care enough to do something about it.

On the other hand if it bothers you that much contact WB'S about the way you feel. Having people complain all the time gets old. Having people criticize insiders that are here for us gets old! I have read the way people are calling out Bill Hunt on his review and I think it's appalling, the man does this because he loves HT and wants to help US OUT. It's disgraceful and people who have called him out should be ashamed of themselves!! Look how much he has done for us!

That's not me, it's actually the cat that worked on the new color grading for FotR. By the time he realized he was still wearing the goggles it was too late.

To Mikej327 – I agree. We need to see a plethora of posts from members informing us that they have shipping confirmation that their box set has shipped and then, hourly updates as to exactly where in the UPS delivery system their package is located.

I truly enjoy that type of anticipatory shipping en route anxiety.

Bill's a big boy and can take care of himself. He does what he does for a living and surely he takes complaints as part of the job. He's not your daddy.

You may want to post a query about the color timing issue of FOTR on PJ’s Facebook page, as he responded to internet queries about his 3D filmmaking of The Hobbit at a non-standard frame rate of 48fps when much, much less internet fuss was made about that creative decision.

Just a thought.

LOL thats the type of mentality that will chase a great source like Bill away from HT.

Erm, if he was wearing blue/green goggles, wouldn't he compensate by grading colors in the opposite direction? Or does he love the color so much that even with the tint he applied, it's still not blue/green enough?

Someone else told me that if I yell loud enough on this forum Peter will hear me all the way over on Facebook. I've been slowly increasing the volume of my posts.

Yes, the FotR green controversy will chase Bill Hunt right out of the business. Personally I'm still not 100% convinced this all hasn't been an elaborate ruse on WB's part to bring down Bill Hunt.

I don't condone personal attacks against Bill but it's not my job to act as his advocate and publicly defend him either. Or to do so with the secondary objective of trying to silence complaints about a bluray release, which is really what you were doing. Right?

Mr Stinky-Dinkins laid it out real simple like. Not much more to say so you guys trot out the "b-b-b-b-but look how mean these guys are to poor Bill Hunt!!!" Cry me a river.

Folks I’ve been asked by a well-respected reviewer here at Blu-ray.com (who shall rename nameless) to cross-link a post I made yesterday to this thread.

Well anyway, gotta go.

Sunlight’s burning and I’ve got to do due diligence on my thread where I see I'm requested to answer boring Blu-ray Disc Association meeting questions concerning your alls format.

Carry on…
