Really wish i didn't buy this. It was never mentioned that it wasn't a usual digibook. I was expecting production notes like all other digibooks. Not a comic.
It says right on the sticker on the cover that it's a comic.

Batcowl and Steelbook for me over here. Though that digibook was enticing, I'm actually not a huge fan of them like many around here. I'll pick one of up if it's a good deal, but I much prefer steelbooks.

...The standard edition slipcover and trilogy set do look awfully nice, though.

I've got the standard version coming from Amazon. I was at one point kicking around the idea of getting the Best Buy steelbook even though I'm not a big steelbook collector. I REALLY like the cover with the broken mask on the ground! But since the versions of the first two movies that I have aren't the steelbook versions (and I have no desire to rebuy them just to get the steelbooks), and even more so since with tax the steelbook version would have probably cost me about $27 (roughly an $8 mark up over the tax-free $18.99 that I preordered from Amazon at... which is now about $9 since they dropped it to $17.96), I just went that route.

The documentary would have been cool, but it's nothing that I was super excited about. And in all honesty, while I thought this movie was pretty good, I didn't think it was great. The Dark Knight (the 2nd film) was A LOT better IMO.

And considering that I recently spent A LOT (much more than I was planning) on black friday/cyber monday deals, and since I may end up double dipping on the whole series next year depending on what all is included in the Ultimate Trilogy set that is scheduled to come out, I really didn't want to spend more on this than I absolutely had to.

Im the kind of person that doesnt like to get screwed over at all EVER. So I tell you on this day the release day of the Dark Knight Rises and all 3 Exclusives. I bought all 3. I dont think a picture is necessary. I personally feel out of my mind but very happy at the same time . I personally like all 3. I may just leave the Cowl in the box and not take it out. No need to. I beleive i will watch the Digibook instead of the Steelbook.

Conclusion: This has got to stop. So I probably have to stop reading these forums. Nothing against anybody here but DAMN you all make these Blu Ray Exclusives seem like they need to be put in a Safe and cherished and man LOL I am obviously out of control.
[Show spoiler]Now I did have 35 dollars in a Giftcard and Certificate so that makes it a little better. But still I spent Over 50 dollars on Batman. Insane. What the hell live life while you can right? This better not be a Prometheus 25fps issue with my player I know that.

Honestly you all should buy all 3 what the hell.
I know how you feel. Went out and did the rounds at midnight for Cowl and the digibook around 9. The only thing temporarily stopping me from the BB steel is that they had like 80+ copies. But that doesn't mean I won't change my mind by tomorrow.

That was my other issue with buying more than two copies of this, especially the trilogy, since I already own two copies of The Dark Knight and one of Batman Begins. Depending on the packaging and what's included, it's extremely likely that I'll buy the UCE Trilogy.

So if you were underwhelmed by the movie, why did you see it three times in the theater?

OH, i dont know if you all realize but there are actually 2 different Digibooks. One has Batman as what you see when you look straight on it. Then tilt to see Bane.

The other one has Bane visible when you look straight on it and tilt to see Batman.

I bought the one with Batman First look.

I think I have decided I will keep my cowl edition sealed on the shelf, and I will buy the Target digibook to actually use....

After buying the ET digibook I am so sold on those things.

I'm actually hoping the UCE is nothing but action figures, batman masks, mini batmobiles, film cells and other crap I don't want so I have no incentive to buy it.

Seriously? Why would Warner go through the trouble of making different versions when its lenticular and shows both. So if true, then I guess there really is 2 digibook versions after all

I'm still undecided as to what the crap I'll do with my cowl. Might keep it on the shelf and might dangle it around as trade incentive. But, I got the digibook earlier and a part of me wants the BB steel since I already have the other 2 Nolans.

But which trilogy? It seems from the ad that BB has two different at two different prices. The one with BB exclusive content is $34.99 and the one without is $29.99. The exclusive content, I guess, is the documentary.

Argghhh!!! Too many of everything!

Umm, the WBShop exclusive might want to say something about your belief that there was only 5 Different versions of the film to buy today. It includes 3 crummy little toys, but it was limited to 1,000 so I had to order it. I couldn't see anywhere easy to cancel a WBShop order so I kept it once I noticed it was sold out and it will be nice to have a standard case version to keep my watching copy of the film in. I have not received a shipment notification yet, but I should have a copy of this coming eventually. Not a very good deal for $29.99, but my overcrowded trinket collection obviously needed some new additions.

Interesting. Any idea if it includes Ultraviolet copies of all 3 films? Or just TDKR?
Its all 3 I just redeemed it

I was at Target and thought it strange that I could see BM on one and Bain on the the other as I was appraoching them, but didn't think they might actually be two versions. This is all too crazy. I am almost expecting to see a sticker on the various versions, "1 of 5,000 variants. Collect them all!"

Get Rises by itself for $27 or all three Batman films on Blu-Ray for $30? Hmm...

Picked up the Blu-ray set at K-Mart this morning, as I had $9+ in Shop Your Way Rewards saved up to use. Which got me the flick for about $11. Well worth it considering I'm not a huge fan of the Nolan films. I normally would have grabbed the Best Buy steelbook for the bonus documentary, but again... not a huge fan. Plus I didn't like the idea of not having similar packaging for the three films in the Nolan Bat-Saga. So stuck with the regular release.

Only watched half of it so far, so I can't offer a full opinion of the whole film... but I have to say it's probably the most entertaining of the three films for me so far. I had expected this film to make me appreciate Dark Knight more, since not caring for TDK is what made me reevaluate Batman Begins and enjoy it more. But I think the opposite thing is happening here. It's actually making me dislike the previous two chapters more. Which surprises me.

It helps that unlike The Joker, who I think was already done fantastic in previous films, tv shows, and cartoons,... it's a villain who got the worst treatment of any of them from the last series of Batman films. Even though I would have liked to have seen the Venom aspect of Bane, at least he wasn't a lumbering brainless goon like in Batman & Robin. Now if only you didn't need the subtitles turned on occasionally to understand what he's saying.
