Haha, too funny, I was just about to say that. I would snatch them up if I had been working, but the job didn't start yet, and I'm spending most of my Christmas money on the LCR and stands. I'm sure there will be more opportunities down the road, I'll just have to wait.

I should be starting the job any day now. I'm waiting for them to schedule the drug screening and paperwork.

At least for the both of us. We are getting the matching center piece to our fronts at the same time.

Yea, I've been looking forward to getting the LCR ever since I got the RC-10's. Now I'll have a perfect match up. I have to say though, I've been pretty impressed with my little Infinity center. It's been sounding pretty good with the Energy's. But I'm anxious to hear what I've been missing.

Maybe you can use your Infiniti as a back surround?

Well, I actually have 2 Infinity's in the rear. They actually came with the center as a set. You can see them in my HT gallery. I have a couple of pictures of one of the rears, one with the grill on, and one without.

So let me make sure I've got this right haha, because this sounds awesome - The RC-30's are a better speaker overall than the CF-50's? If this is the case, this forum is AWESOME haha. I would LOVE to find out that this were true, as that would save me a load of money, leaving me more for a center, and a receiver.

Well, since I don't want to buy the expensive retail price at a Magnolia BB. I just go word of mouth here and their experience. I know it's best to listen to each speakers on-site, but I trusted the knowledge here knowing that I would agree with the members on this site as if they owned those speakers.

The Energy C Series were my first HT speakers who I was recommended by a member on this site. I started out 2.0 in 2009, and now I end up to a 7.2.

Since I wanted Towers, I stuck with the Energy brand since they seem to make a great product.

If you go get the RC brand. The matching RC-LCR Center is $369.99 at Ebay. Me and Miker bought the same center channel the same week and we are both patiently waiting to receive them. $369.99 is the best price I've seen online.

If you go with the CF brand. Their top of the line center channel CC-10 is $199 from Amazon. Good Luck with your purchase.

I also just noticed they have an RC-50 speaker, and noticed that I can find them for less than $100 more than the RC-30. Does anyone have any experience with the RC-50? Is it worth the extra price over the RC-30?

Sorry for all the questions... I try to do as much reading and research as possible before purchasing something, so that I feel I'm getting something as good as I can get it, for the price that I'm paying. (I sometimes get horrible buyers regret )

I guess my reasoning is, if the RC-50's are worth the extra price over the RC-30s (which I've certainly taken note of the praises of), then that would put me in a very good spot as I'd be getting better speakers at over $100 LESS than I originally thought (with the CF-50s) which gives me some extra room on a Center or a sub!

Couldn't have said it better. The guys here, like Steve (Callas01), Oliver (BigAl) and many others know these speakers very well. As BigAl stated in another post, the RC was once Energy's reference line, therefore, the quality in construction and sound will be better.

Get the LCR ASAP as it might be very difficult to get later but yes RC-50 retailed at 1800$ so you have more than 65% off the retain price if your rook is kid of big then it's worth it but the RC-30 is hell of a speaker for it's small size. The money saved there could go on the center.

But as Olivier just said, the 30's are fantastic and that's probably what I will end up getting to upgrade from my bookshelves.

Well, of course Steve and Olivier will surely come in with advise on this, but lets compare some specs between the two:
Frequency Response:
RC-50 33Hz-23000Hz +/- 3dB
RC-30 40Hz-23000Hz +/- 3dB
Recommended Power:
RC-50 225 W
RC-30 200 W
Components:
RC-50 1" Aluminum Dome Tweeter, 2 6-1/2" Kevlar Ribbed Elliptical Surround Woofers
RC-30 1" Aluminum Dome Tweeter, 2 5-1/2" Kevlar Ribbed Elliptical Surround Woofers
Usable Bass Response:
RC-50 28H
RC-30 33H

As you can see from the specs the 50 will probably give you a little more performance in the lower frequencies and provide better bass due to it's larger woofer size, cabinet size, and other differences I'm sure the rest of the guys here with more experience than I will tell you about.

you pretty much nailed it, the RC-50s have larger drivers and can push the lower-end a little better, it will also add increased output or volume to fill up your room. Honestly with a good sub, that won't matter too much in a mid to small room, in a large room you will get more benefit with the RC-50s. if you are married, and your wife wants a smaller speaker, get the RC-30s and you will still get great bass in movies and music, plus you will keep her happier with them also.

Realistically, the RC-30s and RC-50s are built on the same platform, same crossover, design and all, so they are idential speakers with different sized woofers.

It can be had for $299 today...

Some folks over at AVS have bought from 5stardeal and they're saying it's legit. This is also the same ebay seller that has been selling them for $370 I believe.

Indeed and also the RC-line already had the ribbed elleptical surround which allow longer excursion with minimal distortion and provide a really good slam for their size, the RC-30 is very good filling medium to large room but the RC-50 would be a bit better. Dual 5.5 inch driver of the RC-30 allow really good bass and provide a bit more linearity over the RC-50 which will have lower end extension and more slam, alot of people would be surprised by the RC-30. They perform really well with a devent receiver but they like a whole lot of power if you can give it to them.

Keep in mind Energy is a Linear speaker Regardless of which one you choose.

I've heard the RC-10s in the same room as the CF-70s and besides bass, the RC-10 outperformed the CF-70 in every way.

I have the RC-50s and bought them sight unseen after listening to the RC-10 and RC-30. I'm not sure if they are better than the 30 (or 10 for that matter since I'm using a sub), however I thought the more substantial looking 50 looked better.

What I meant by that is the 30 is a short, somewhat narrow speaker, perfect for someone who doesn't have a ton of space or if you want towers, but have the WAF to get around. If you're going to be using them in a large room or just like the size of the 50s more, and money isn't a concern, jump on them now. They are a steal at this price. Otherwise, go with the 30s and put that savings toward the LCR, again, at the $300 it's selling for today (or $340 for that matter), it's a steal.

I joined Miker and MaCruz this afternoon and order a center for my set-up. Soon I'll have 3 RC-50s across the front of my room.
