By the way, heyday or not, disc is still a great bet, it’s number one in my house. 24 years of greatness and still going. I doubt Disney+ will be able to hang around that long. They are the HD DVD of the streaming world!
Time will tell. The reward for DTC (Direct To Consumer) will bring in billions more than disc ever did even in its heyday.

BTW - I'll take that bet. Too bad I won't be around to see it happen. I would be 96.

Nice try! He will license out content to Netflix, Paramount+, Pluto, Tubi, etc.

My blind loyalty? If you mean to physical media then yes, I am blindly loyal to the superior format for home entertainment. It's certainly better than paying monthly for something I don't own and can be removed at any time. I might as well throw my money in the garbage. Or, I can spend it on a disc that is mine forever and can never be altered or removed. Which sounds like the better deal to you?
So far $12 how many discs can you buy - none. Streaming is like going to a restaurant. You pay money for food you enjoy. It's the experience that provides the enjoyment

It is no different than your blind loyalty to digital. But in your case you get to spend money on content that can be removed and altered without your say. Your corporate overlords appreciate your naivete and your willingness to give them money in exchange for vaporware. It works out great for them.
OOPS! You made a grave mistake. I have NEVER . . . EVER paid for a digital movie or TV show. You have me confused with someone else. That is apparent.

I'm one of those watch it once and done types so streaming is perfect for me. Why buy something I will only watch once. To me it's a waste of money. For the price of a single BD I get a month's worth of entertainment. Should we talk about all the FREE streaming services like Tubi, Pluto, FilmRise, Roku and others? I have to watch ads. BFD! Gives me time to take a leak or making something quick to eat.

Check this site. There are 6 4K movies listed on sale at Amazon for under $12. If you search for Blu-ray's there are literally hundreds for under $12. So like Alchav you comment on things you know nothing about.

You don't care enough about movies to actually purchase anything in any form but like to come here and disparage those of us that spend money on discs. So you just like to cause trouble is what you're saying. No surprise there. Trolls gonna troll.

I did, Dropped it 4 months ago.

Guess we need to clarify definitions:

Physical Media - self explanatory

Digital: Buying and renting movies and TV shows.

Streaming: SVOD, AVOD and FAST.

Not splitting hairs, but all three are digital. Hasn't been an analog based entertainment since VHS and LD were replaced by DVD

OK - you get to buy a single movie. For the same $12 I have access to 1000s of movies and TV show episiodes.

I have no problem with disagreements. I disagree with people all the time. That's what makes for great discussions. It's your condescending and superior tone I take issue with.

Well - that's me so you can either like it or lump it. Your choice.

My background was working with Fortune 500 companies at the Vice President level up to the CEO.

What's your background?

Lol, so that gives you the right to act superior? I'm not impressed if that was your intent. It just means you think much higher of yourself than is realistic. High level executives contribute about as much good to humanity as personal injury lawyers. They are nothing more than self-inflated egoists who are too naive to realize they are easily replaced by any other self-important blowhard. If possible I actually think less of you now.

My background is just as irrelevant as yours in this discussion. I don't have to flex to feel important.

I wrote to Warner Bros. Home Video back in December of 2022 that disc #1 from my ...had bronzed and was now unplayable. After providing proof of purchase, even though that was way back in 2009, they replied that they would send me a replacement disc IF they had any in stock.

I wrote them each month thereafter, until March of this year, asking if they were going to be able to send me this disc or not. I never heard another word from them.

Today a large box arrived unexpectedly at my doorstep. It contained this:

Six months after my initial inquiry Warner Bros. sent me the entire 10 season series on blu-ray. As I only owned the first five seasons on DVD this makes for a very substantial upgrade and I am so happy to receive this wonderful set. They made me wait a long time, and long after I had given up any hope, but they more than made up for the long delay.

This is one of the many reasons that I love physical media. When I do have a problem with a rare disc gone bad, the studio, or label, that made it will usually make good on it.

Disney isn't one of those studios, however; they'll tell you to F off in the politest manner you ever heard just before wishing you "a magical day."

I love the Warner Bros story with Smallville.

I discovered my Donnie Darko disc purchased last year had a defective disc and Arrow is replacing it. I believe the exchange program or recall ended already.

I tried to contact Sony about a defective Anatomy of a Murder disc and the person I spoke to said I had called the wrong department which is possible.

I took my chances on a used copy on Ebay in the meantime. They claim it's never been used so it could be defective too. I think it's a 3 layer UHD BD. The actual Blu Ray is fine too.

The contact information that I have for Sony is:

or phone number 1-800-860-2878

I hope that helps.

I am superior. You know why? Because I present objective FACTS to back up my arguments. The likes of you - you present subjective info: feelings, emotions, etc. Then you expect them to be accepted as facts. How delusional of you.

I never stated any of my opinions as a fact or that they should be accepted as such. I presented a factual article where Iger himself stated they were considering investing in physical media again. I never said it WAS happening or that he stated it was.

I then said I BELIEVE it would happen, not that it was empirical fact. Please show me an example of where I stated my opinion as a fact. I will kindly correct my statement.

There is only one person here who consistently states their opinions as facts yet you never feel the need to go after them. Could it be because you agree with their opinions? Who's the hypocrite now.

The only thing you are superior at is being a condescending jerk.
