How did a discussion about a Star Wars boxset turn to a discussion about the Coronavirus?

EXACTLY THIS!! I am a HUGE Star Wars fan and desperately wanted to get this 4K box set, even before it was first announced, and I won't even be upgrading to 4K for at least another year. I love the packaging and was hoping for something truly special for the first ever box set of all 9 "SAGA" films. If it had been $150, I would have bought it in a heartbeat. But for $250, I just can't justify it for the packaging alone, especially when I can import the regular blu-ray set from Amazon UK for about $70US shipped!

Because if someone buys lots of the 4K boxset to scalp then they might not live to see all those profits come rolling in, or something

This is the most optimistic thing you've said in a while.

Has anyone gotten their hand on the breakdown of bonus material for this set? Really hoping there's a ton of new stuff, otherwise I'm personally not seeing much reason to purchase, as I have the 6 film set and all the individual releases (also odd that this doesn't include R1 or Solo).

This has been asked and answered. Nothing new.

I wonder how quickly the virus would have spread on the Death Star. Probably would have been a lot easier to just smuggle in a little taste of the corona and let it run wild instead of going through all the trouble to blow it up (twice!). Most of the big wigs onboard looked pretty old and/or immunocompromised.

Another question is, do the storm trooper and pilot helmets filter our viruses?

Do not do this. You won’t make money from it. The only valuable physical products are those that have limited print runs from small companies like Arrow. Nobody will pay you for this set. Especially with the negativity around the packaging. Add to that, that Disney will release a standard boxset down the line too. It won’t be a one and done release.
I’m not going to get into a debate about whether the value of an unopened Skywalker Saga set will increase or decrease, and unlike you, I’m not going to give anyone advice.

But I will note that there were the same complaints about price and packaging from the usual suspects re: The Infinity Saga Collector's Edition UHD, also from Best Buy, which was originally priced at $550, and is now priced anywhere from $1200 to $3500 on eBay.

Now, I'm not suggesting this set is going to sell for more than the list price once it runs out of stock, as the MCU set was a limited edition with an exclusive, nor am I suggesting that buying multiple copies of this set is a good investment.

All I'm saying is my pre-order is all in at $212.00

I don't knock anyone for buying this set. No need to justify it. I just am very underwhelmed by it and now that I have joined DCM, I will go the route of buying the singles and hoping for a better set down the road.

Everything is about the Coronavirus. People getting mad at Corona beer right now for their advertisements shows you the state of PC in our country.

It sounds like one of the reasons this virus is so potent is because it can live on surfaces for up to a week. One big problem for storm troopers is that I doubt they wash their hands often so they could potentially come in contact with the virus while in the suit but then get the exposure when they take their suit off at bedtime, or whenever the hell they take them off. Meanwhile, they'd be spreading the disease all over the damn station and exposing those without masks, which means upper management is toast.

Reminds me how people got angry at LotR for naming the second film "The Two Towers".

Is that the same people that don't recognize a Barry Sanders jersey?

I do love the artwork and all with the set, but in the end, practicality won for me lol.
I apologize, but would you mind explaining the Disney Movie Club for those of us that don’t know? $125 off and includes the US digital codes? I’m listening!

"50% off on additional titles when you order your Featured Title or another title at regular price."

can't get the 'Featured Title' (TROS) at regular price since it's already marked down $5 to $29.99, but you can get all 8 saga films (except TLJ) for ~$170 before shipping.

edit: subtotal is ~$222.22 with Solo 4k and Rogue One 4k added to cart. that's the first movie for $35, 9 more for $17 a piece, and TROS at $30. i already have Solo and TLJ in 4k steelbook so i'm skipping those via DMC.
