I think Justin went for the RC-50 as his center.

Well he joined both of you Mikes and got anew center but it's the RC-50 to get a perfect front soundstage.

No worries in your case yo have perfect driver size mactch between the LCR and the RC-30 so it will be great.

Yea, we're ok Mike. Like Olivier said, the LCR will match our speakers perfectly. And think about it this way, at least we don't have to pay 650 dollars for it. I'm happy.

It sure would have been nice to have 70 dollars to go toward stands though..

Hey There! sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Yes this is the one:

314MAWM8Q6L.jpg

Like I said, i just got a can of flat black Krylon paint and let it dry. I set a doily (yes I said doily) on it to avoid any possible paint transfer and or scratching to the speaker. Its plenty sturdy to hold the RC-LCR in place and is open in the back for all the connections on the APC unit. Do I lose Man Points for having a doily in my Home Theater setup??

One tip: Don't paint the bottom of the legs. Put some masking tape on the underside of them before you paint them. It will avoid paint transfer to your shelving unit. I learned that one the hard way.

@ Jwilly: Wow! You are gonna have yourself one hell of a front sound stage!! Nicely done!

Sweet! How many coats did you apply, or you just covered it with black and let dry?

One light coat and then another to give full coverage.

LOL, pretty clever use of the foam port plugs.

Just checked UPS and I should get my RC-LCR Tuesday. I was hoping Monday since I'm off.

How bout you Mike?

Good morning Mike, they went and changed the delivery date on me. I figured they would, it's probably due to the weather. All week it's been telling me today was the delivery date, and they just changed it to Tuesday for me as well. My package is in Illinois.

Good Morning Mike! Yeah if you get it Tuesday. You'll have a head start setting yours up while I won't be home a little after 6pm.

You should post pics during the day to make jealous wishing I was home.

I might be working by that time as well. They could call me at any moment to go in and do the paperwork, so it's possible I'll be working next week. That's why I was kind of hoping it was going to come in today, but I figured the weather would hold things up so I'm not really surprised.

This morning I experimented a little and lifted up my speakers to nearly 29" (only about 1/4" shy) using a couple of phone books to raise them, and I was pleasantly surprised. At first I played a little music on them to get them adjusted, and I must say they sounded fine, I might even say more balanced, and even the imaging sounded a little better. I was wrong in my estimation about where the tweeters would be as they appear to be right at ear level. I thought they would be much higher than they are.
I then played a movie to test how the position of the center in relation to the L/R fronts would affect the sound, and again my worries were unfounded as it sounded great. I like to test my speakers using the opening car chase scene in Quantum of Solace. I just love the sound (turned up loud) in that scene for some reason. Anyway, It looks like the 29" stands will be the ones I'll go with.
Come on LCR...

Nice! Yeah I'm still adjusting my fronts, but I think just below ear level seems to be fine. The more I make them higher, the more dangerous it would be if I accidentally bumped them and they fell. Even worse the spikes get caught on my foot.

Did you pull them at least a foot away from the well like Steve said? The bass won't sound right if you don't do that.

I have limited space so it's out at least 6" from the wall. I don't think I'll notice because my speakers are set to small, and majority of the bass comes out from my dual subs.
