even if it did include a DVD, you'd need a region free player or a PC with software able to crack it's protection

I was reading about these new releases from other sources from the net and came across some interesting news that 101 Dalmatians might and possible will be released in September alsondside The Aristocats. It might not get the diamond treatment but a special edition this makes sense due to it was released only in 2008 but had a restoration so disney could be using the same transfer but to blu-ray.

Even if there was, I wouldn't be able to stand it. PAL movies are played 4% faster than the intended rate since they speed it up from 24 fps to fit their 25.

I imported Cats Don't Dance from Germany just because it's the only widescreen copy available but sadly, I knew the soundtrack so well I was able to spot the slight-but-noticeable pitch difference. That said, I'd definitely spot it with Tarzan, having listened to the soundtrack over 30 times and seeing the movie a bajillion of times.

That's just me anyway.

Are we going to get any Studio Ghibli movies in 2012 besides the new one?

And that, although I have my ways to watch PAL content on PS3. It's no rocket science and there's no modding to it (which I'm against). Can't really say it here though... I think.

O man that'd be nice! I'm surprised to hear no line up considering how one studio ghibli film is to be releasing in theaters!

Streaming from a media server (such as PlayOn) using your computer to a PS3? That is no state secret or anything.

I just found out that Pocahontas 1 and 2 special edition is coming out on blu ray in Australia Feb 29th which is our summer season. I am expecting the Rescuers to come out around the same time as its also a summer release. It's very strange how different countries will recieve these releases earlier. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think they would release more than just one title this year

I'd actually be fine with 101 Dalmatians not getting the Diamond treatment. As big of a classic as it is, I don't think it's every really deserved the five star treatment with the bigger titles. At least I don't think it should get in over Fantasia, which was dropped from the Diamond class.

Now something just got me super excited
and every delays of Tinker Bell has became clear...

see the blurry, "also on.... " thingy?

I just got Lady & The Tramp on hands (disadvantage of living so far away)

it actually said, (don't know if anyone noticed before), also on Blu-Ray 3D

and I suspected this the first time the release date was postponed!

now i am seriously excited, even in 2D tinker bell has been the most visually stunning IMO

To see it in 3D would be awesome!!! I love this Disney, great move, always support
new things full on, like 3D, and now i'm not upset anymore that it has been delayed for a whole year...

I've noticed this as well and I was wondering whether they will re-render the previous titles in 3D.

I would think they would, it would be easy, and the tinkerbell movies are highly liked, so I would think it would be worth it to go back and do it.

I went and dug up my old L&T ad flyer, which I hadn't paper-recycled yet, and the "blur" does indeed say "Also on Disney 3D".

Which's also a good sign:
Not only re-rendered--which can be as good as native, since there's nothing outside the computer to fool with--but it's more importantly, it's also Disney's FIRST DTV to go 3-D.
We can assume things like Sammy or "Lion of Judah" were just indies and foreigners jumping in on 3D kiddy DTV to parasite on a video trend, but to see Disney, who leads the industry in kiddy DTV, to approve selling a title through in 3-D, rather than just use it to "recoup their expenses" on an existing 3D theatrical, is major step in industry acceptance.

(And judging from the trailers, I'd rather see high-flying Tink go 3D first, than those danged Chihuahuas.)

Yes I love The Rescuers. Just to refresh your minds remember the release back in 1999 with the 2 frames that showed the naked lady. Animators joke I think or was it to boost sales?????????????????
