Bit confused by the 1800s line. Just saw some set photos if Fassbender with a big ol' dollop of fake tan on and Pitt in a cowboy hat with long hair. Almost makes me want to drive down to London with my Fight Club steelbook and get Pitt to sign it

No, it was a little different with him in a white coyboy hat and suit. Fassbender was in a full on modern suit with modern day setting.

Ah, would be a joy to go see them and get some stuff signed and take some pictures but i need somebody to help find these locations

That's "The Counselor", Ridley Scott's new movie. They are doing two movies together, that one and twelve years with Mcqueen.

I like Steve McQueen's work thus far. The cast also seems pretty good.

According to early test screenings there's a 10-15 minute scene of a girl just scrubbing a bathtub. Should be fun.

Steve McQueen tends to include long steady shots without moving the camera.

In Hunger, there's a 20 minute scene without the camera cutting once.

In Shame there's the unbroken 3 minute running scene. No where near as long as other shots, but he does like focusing on something/someone for long periods of time, even if in tracking shots.

I'm still not sure how I'd rate him as a director. If Fassbenders performances weren't as strong as they were his films would be pretty hollow.

And it's one of the most amazing scenes I've ever witnessed in a film. So simple with two people talking, but it totally sucked me into the movie. Honestly up until that point, I thought Hunger was just ok.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't remember that happening.

Where did you hear this?

Some user on the IMDb boards mentioned this detail coming back from a test screening in February (or March?). Sounded legitimate considering the piss-cleaning scene from Hunger and seems like a strange detail to make up.

Yeah, but there's vital information/dialogue being exchanged during that scene pertaining to Sands' motivation. This, supposedly, was just a girl scrubbing a bathtub.

I'm sure the scene fits when taken into context. Jeanne Dielmann has loads of such scenes, and I found it riveting from start to finish.

Just gotta say again, this cast is amazing, even down to Taran Killam, who is so underused on SNL. I think it's time for me to finally watch Hunger and Shame too.

I know a lot of people like Shame but I don't find it quite as impactful and powerful as it was built up to be, a definitely not as good compared to Hunger. They're both great films, but Hunger will linger in the mind for longer.
