Just picked up my copy from my mailbox; I was inspired by Kong: Skull Island yesterday to order it. I recall seeing this in theaters and how visually stunning and emotionally charged it was; I can't wait to see what it looks like in 4K.

Just viewed this new version. Very impressive. I had no idea how nice dinosaurs could camouflage into the landscape. It was amazing!
Only my 3rd movie experience with HDR but very impressed so far (tomorrow Skull Island!!)

Just redeemed the digital copy via Flixster and there doesn't seem to be a way to watch it in UHD. Normally I redeem my digital copies via VUDU, but that wasn't an option for this title. Urgh!

LG and Samsung TVs or Roku Premier+ and Ultra can do FandangoNow HDR. You can only watch thru FandangoNow.

Flixster, FandangoNow and Vudu are all UV and they all port between each other. Look in the ultraviolet section of fandango now and it'll be there.

I was able to get it for this one. I usually go to VUDU and search the title, then hit the redeem button there. That's what I've done for a couple years now for most stuff instead of going to their publisher site or wherever first.

Works in most cases. Only UHD I haven't been able to redeem on VUDU has been I Am Legend for whatever reason.

^^^I'll have to check out Fandango and see if I have anything there already.

If you redeem this in Vudu, you'll forever be stuck in HDX/1080p. You need to redeem Universal movies through FandangoNow/Flixster to get the UHD copy on your account.

DC i got seems to be same as from the earlier release, (even has the old Universal Globe intro) 1080 (HDX) no UHD on mine
went thru UPHE / Flixter -> linked to Vudu on Roku

Watched this today and it is a pretty good UHD. Never been a big fan of the movie but that was quite immersive compared to what I remember from watching the HD blu. Some minor issues only; contrast is dialed up tad too much perhaps but given the setting it's appropriate. Minor banding on that one scene offshore. But honestly I only noticed it because I waited for it to come up reading the previous comments. No other banding observed. Also, some minor issue with a glow around the actors against the green screen. It was quite irregular though.
That's all I can think of now. Will watch the new Kong next week

I've linked my UltraViolet account to Fandangonow, but none of the movies in my collection are viewable for free. :/

I was actually thinking of Kong not King Kong. I must not have been able to redeem King Kong on VUDU either.

Years, it wouldn't redeem for me. I guess Universal doesn't work with Vudu.

This one only redeems on FandangoNow or Flixster according to their redemption site IIRC. Maybe it's only HDR10 and won't show up on VUDU until after they bring HDR10 support. Universal works with VUDU; my VUDU UHD copies of Oblivion, Warcraft and Lucy are proof.

You have to have an Ultraviolet account, link the Ultraviolet account to the Flixter account , then it will show up on your Vudu, after you link the Vudu and Ultraviolet / if you have not done so yet, pain in the butt for an HDX (1080) DC but it will work , i was able to get it there and in my iTunes also
