Yes, he presses his back to the wall like he used to, and it's not magnetic or gravitational like with the MGS5 system of the "modern" controls, but you have to tilt the stick away from the wall to separate. Also, because they have made R2 the shoot button, you can no longer lean right and left out of cover with L2 and R2. Instead, you have to hold R1/RB while tilting the stick left or right. The old system was simpler.
Goes without saying that the lean also works like that when you're just standing out in the open. And it's not a sensitive action like it was before with L2/R2, even though it's a freaking analog stick. You can't lean slightly, you can lean only all the way.

You also can't look up and down anymore when you're in tall grass, an air shaft or under the floorboard and the camera is in first person infiltration mode, unless you take out a gun and point it with L2 (or press R2 down only slightly, makes makes L2 somewhat redundant).

Again, speaking about the "legacy" controls.

Everyone who reviewed this should have their right to review withdrawn. Really shallow reviews.

Disagree with the last part, but I won't try to convince you, since I know from just checking YouTube that almost every single player uses the free camera. I'll say only that it is a cheat. Always was. At least in previous versions it could be turned off without impacting gameplay. In this version they've mucked up the controls too much.

Been playing it on PC.

The graphics are great, but the 60 FPS cap is disappointing, as are the constant frame drops, especially when going in-between zones.

Enjoyed the playthrough, despite the technical issues. I'm used to the typical UE5 subpar performance BS at this point but this game introduced its own issues on top of that, worst of all is the shadows flickering

not sure if it's a widespread 'bug'? but happens a lot in cutscenes (snake's hair turns white sometimes) and in corridors (the game had a seizure in The Fury fight), very noticeable in the ladder part as well

hopefully they fix it with a patch

Guess this is the "Made in America" quality we Americans are going to get for now on. Thanks tariffs!

The European version is also about $90 more expensive than the American one and, from what I can tell, doesn't include the game.

Not to say that the figure in the American one is excusable though

The Konami team has shared that Metal Gear Solid Delta sold one million units as of August 28th; the day the game came out. That figure is across all available platforms, taking into account both physical shipments and digital sales.
