I have had my Denon Avr 591 receiver for a year know I am still loving it. I can't say enough about this recevier. It worth every penny I paid for. I paid $ 500.00 for it here in Canada. I guess we always pay more for electronics.

I picked up the 1912 to run my Absolute 5.1T system and I'm mostly listening to internet radio on it. I only have 25 bd movies so you can only watch them so many times. I only actually bought the blu-ray player when the Star Wars movies came out... I'm really enjoying the Denon/NHT combo. I never had a good system before that. I had a Denon complete set up I bought 10 plus years ago that cost me around $600.

The 791 was able to produce more bass out of the center. I used a scene from Battle Los Angeles over and over and over and over. I played with the settings over and over and I just could not get the same sound.

I was actually comparing the Pioneer Elite VSX-31, the AVR-1912 and the AVR-791. The Pio didn't even compare. The 1912 and the 791 were close but I just liked the sound coming from the 791 more. Then, I saw the AVR-991 on sale for less than the AVR-1912 and jumped on it. Loving it ever since.

And...Denon seems to be giving their European market the Airplay upgrade for free. I contacted them via email asking them why they would do it for Europe and not America. They replied saying they would give it to me for free, as well. I just had to send them some info. I have already downloaded and installed it. I just have to try it out.

Going back to what you said before, I also noticed the Center isn't very loud.(AVR-1912) It doesn't stand out at all.

You can always either turn the center channel up or turn the r/l down a little to have the center stand out more.

Hey fellas..I just picked up a Denon 1912 from a local store ,and get this for $320.00 out the door with a 5 yr warranty..I love it!, the sound is so clear and detailed..I have done a compare to my Pio Elite SC-25 and my Denon 3805 powerd by my Adcom 7500 and the Denon 1912 is just so much cleaner sound..I think im going to sell my adcom 7500 and just use the Avr 1912..From all my experance running seperates,it comes down to room size, for a large room a seperate amp is nice, but a medium size room,it isnt a must..

I'm sure you found out by now, but it's behind a plastic cover in the front of the amp. I myself couldn't find it very easily either. I was listening to the Internet radio myself quite a bit. I love the Pink Floyd, Beatles and Pearl Jam channels.

No sorry my bad..i was saying where do you put all 6 Audyssey MultEQ postions for the mic in your room? But i looked @ the Audyssey web page and found my answer there..

Yea ive listened to some Interent radio today..nice..but my SC-25 has that also,so i was used to that..

But..I do have a problem..it seems it take a few seconds for the volume to come up to par when i change a channel on my Tv..and also, the sound goes up and down sometimes while watching a tv show..any idea why? and how to change it..Thanks man..

I haven't noticed this but I'll see if I can notice it when I'm watching T.V. programs. Is it only when you are watching Cable/Sat?

You don't put the mike in 8 different seats. I have a 5.1 system and this is how I place the mike: The mike is placed first at the main seat. Then 2 feet on both sides of the main seat. That makes three positions so far.

Then place the mike two feet in front of each spot you already have done. That makes 6 so far.

Now you have two more positions to go to make 8 spots. The mike is placed one foot on the left of the main seating and then move the mike out from that spot one foot. What you are doing is placing the mike between the first measured row and the second measured row. Do the same thing on the right side of the main seating. That ends up measuring 8 positions.

I use a mike boom to help place the mike. Also, the mike should be ear height.

I hope that I have made sense.

Chris, founder of Audyssey sent me this note:

The number of sitting spots has little to do with the number of measurements. The algorithm needs to capture as much acoustical information as possible from the listening area and so it is critical to take all 8 measurements.

I have a Denon 4810CI.
However I'm setting up my HT to handle 3D and it doesn't handle HDMI 1.4.

So I'm thinking get a Oppo 93 and feed it directly to the projector or just switch it all together for a Pioneer SC-57.
What do you guys think?

On a sidenote are there any speaker brands you would recommend to match a Denon considering a pure movie/gaming setup?
I have read that they don't match well with Klipsch for example.

Paradigm often matches Denons very well. So does the Marantz series.

The Studio 20's with a good sub will rock.
