yeh their was no grain in the movie and most of the scenes were to fraking soft, even dark knight ahd better picture quality ... In the theater the IMAX trumps this bluray release. Only the IMAX scenes in the bluray looked good, and my tv is a 2012 Sammy so its not my tv

His excuses for hating the film were funny because they were all technical-the exact same editing and minor plot problems like batman just showing up magically happened in the dark knight too.

I think the dark knight was better but I love the themes and atmosphere in rises more. The trilogy was amazing.

Send all of your complaints about the PQ to Nolan

The grain is there in the appropriate amount, that is, not much of it.
The reddish skin tones in that scene is also how the film looked in theaters.

I triple dipped.... yes, triple dipped... IDK why I bought that stupid Target edition... not happy with it at all. But I've never even double dipped on a movie before, and was a huge fan of TDKR.. and partly because I wanted to get the special editions but wanted to watch it last night, so I got the standard Blu ray at wal mart...

But anyway, as expected the IMAX scenes look amazing, but the standard scenes are not special at all, I noticed this in the theater as well. The non IMAX scenes looked like absolute trash half the time.

I've always felt this way with the movie, but it's super annoying too when in the final fight scene with bane is IMAX when they are outside, and then all a sudden it switches to the regular camera which looked like poo when they go inside. Some of the transitions between IMAX to standard were so oddly placed... but oh well, still loved the movie.

i think in a total the achievement is quite remarkable of Nolans ability to create the perfect batman environment as seen with each of the 3 films they are all unique and i thought Rises was fantastic! and a great Conclusion

Did you pre-order at Amazon? If so, you will get the refund of the difference.

Really? That sucks. I pre-ordered the BatCowl from Amazon and I will be getting it today, hopefully it's not messed up. I have heard of them being damaged and now incorrect discs. I guess I better open mine up to make sure it is correct.

Might be tough to return or exchange because it was a limited release. I think most places are probably sold out of them. I know Amazon is.

The Dark Knight wasn't popular?
I think your friend simply made the correct assessment that TDKR isn't a very good movie.

I couldn't see anywhere easy to cancel a WBShop order so I kept it once I noticed it was sold out and it will be nice to have a standard case version to keep my watching copy of the film in. I have not received a shipment notification yet, but I should have a copy of this coming eventually. Not a very good deal for $29.99, but my overcrowded trinket collection obviously needed some new additions.
Oh snap! This begs the question...if one is the type who needs all editions, do they theoretically accomplish this by purchasing the wbshop version instead of the standard?

I have no interest in Nemo, so no contributions in that thread for me.

How much are these Target Digibook versions?

So many people apparently hate them, but open them, I might have to check for them around the trade-forums.

I'm in the minority. I loved BB, didn't like TDK and loved TDKR.

I felt the EXACT SAME WAY. When I was at a standard theater, everything looked just fine. But when I was in IMAX, those scenes NOT shot in IMAX, looked terrible... almost standard definition compared to HD. It was so difficult to watch.

Default Anyone else notice this about Walmart?

I went into a 24 hour Walmart to pick up the Blu Ray Combo Pack last night at midnight, as I have for some other new releases, and the price for it was $23.96. I told them that Best Buy had it for $18.99 and they gladly matched it. The weird thing about Walmart that they seem to have their regular price for new releases on the first day, and then after one day they drop it to match the other competitor's prices, particularly high profile new releases. Anyone else notice this? I wonder if Walmart does this on purpose just to wait to see what other retailers prices will be? My questions is why don't they just start selling it at the lowest price from day one, especially seeing as how they have the "lowest price advertised". This way I wouldn't even have to deal with the price matching issue...I don't know the whole thing is just strange to me.

As for the movie, I saw it last night and all I can say is : I REALLY REALLY WISH they had filmed the entire movie in IMAX. The 2:35:1 scenes are very well done but in my opinion the IMAX sequences are night and day in comparison. Breathtaking quality and detail all around!
