In all seriousness, if you haven't done so already, go for its stable-mate, The Vampire Lovers, as it offers Sapphic delights to have you simultaneously nodding both heads in agreement.

I played it for the Missus a few months ago, and while she certainly enjoyed the movie, it didn't inspire her to climb the particular wrong tree I've barking up for years...

They certainly come in pairs!

But wait!! Countess Dracula and The Vampire Lovers were part of the "Karnstein trilogy", which traces the titular family and their perverse natures over the century, with Lust For A Vampire as the meat in the sandwich.

Go on - you know you want to experience a vampiric threesome...

I watched the 4k over the weekend. The picture looks great in my opinion and the sound was pretty solid as well.

I have seen this movie many times in my life and I can say that this is the first time I couldn't stay awake through it. The lengthy dialog free scenes of showing off Enterprise and V'Ger are just too long. It feels like the director is trying outdo 2001 or something. I feel like when I first saw this when I was younger I was disappointed and then it grew on me when I got older but now I am reverting to a lower opinion of this one. I do give it credit for bringing Trek back. I can't wait to watch the 4k's of 2,3,4 and 6 though.

The lengthy sfx scenes are the way they are because special effects technology was new at the time and because of success of Star Wars. But I have never found them boring, it gave mr Goldsmith room to create his magic and compose long film sequences without dialogue and sound effects. This film has always been my favourite of all Star Trek movies.

Beneath definitely shouldn't have gotten a G. Interestingly enough the Blu-Ray of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes also has an unrated cut that is practically pushing R by even today's standards.
