The Digital Bits have confirmed today with multiple industry, distributor, and retailer sources in the region that Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is indeed pulling out of the Australian market in terms of physical media.
You want to buy Disney content on disc? You'll have to import it. Distributors got their product from WDSHE. Will be no longer available.

I know they're working on the 4K disc of it, but there's no set date for release, so went ahead and ordered my last BD from the B&N sale - ordered Jabberwocky CC on BD. I actually had a $5 coupon that I was able to throw at it, so it was $16 shipped.

Will this be the key to trying to make Disney+ into a for profit bussiness? Disney+ is a non profit business it wasn't planned that way but that's the way it turned out.

Maybe removing original movies that cost millions to make without even giving users a heads up is the key. I will watch Crater if it ever gets distributed in the future.

They are into some truly innovative business strategy these days or just flinging ideas around in desperation ... hard to say which.

How many days until January 1st 2025? 524 days. This is how long they have to turn a profit according to the aspirational goals and stock holder pacification.

I collect Disney movies because they have so many great movies however, it really seems they have fallen off a cliff in terms of future content so maybe it's ok if they drive right into the ground and nothing of value will be lost.

This video is on point and should be required viewing for all the dunces trying to make Disney+ profitable but it has a few bad words so watch at your own risk.

Seems the better days are behind them. At least as long as the people in charge are allowed to keep their jobs. May be a good idea to replace the entire board of directors... worth trying I would say.

Also, welcome back Lee, it was not the same without you.

Been awhile since I purchased a Disney title and it appears that may not change with what they are releasing nowadays. Most Disney titles with Atmos, not sure why they even bothered.

Disney World - We have spent a lot of money there but after our visit about 3 years ago we said no more.

I thought the video was spot on!!!

Rogue One 4K disc is the only Disney title I own on from their MCU and SW offerings. They seem to always lower the volume on their Atmos releases, so D+ is good enough.

Disney does the middle finger again to Blu-ray for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with a DTS MA 7.1 while the UHD Blu-ray gets Atmos . Wonder if this Atmos mix is anemic as several other Disney titles with Atmos.

I will wait for reviews before buying it. If it the Atmos goes anemic, then I will wait for it on D+.

BJ's Wholesale Club Peacock Lost $651 Million from April to June

There's no business like streaming.

Makes me wonder how much money needs laundering.

With all these companies losing all this money, ... I've decided to go looking for it. Imagine if you found just some of this lost money!

Disney doesn't do Atmos; they do Atmouse.

They scrimp on their disc releases not only with their signature neutered audio, but also with their insistence on using discs with a capacity no larger than 66 GB. They refuse to use BD-100GB discs (Cameron's influence being the exception) no matter how long the movie's running time all while charging among the highest prices for their lackluster products.

I have been shaking my head at Disney for their mixes for quite some time, but every now and then one comes out that is impressive. Alita Battle Angel, Dr Strange Madness, and Kings Man were solid efforts. I will grab Haunted Mansion for nostalgia purposes as that was always one of favorite rides growing up. I even have the original vinyl Disney released long before they attempted to make a movie.

I think Alita was mastered when it was with Fox.

I own a version of the Haunted Mansion movie .... not sure I should admit that. I think it was a freebie from DMC back in the day. I do like Eddie Murphy.

You may be right with Alita. Makes sense. The new one looks more promising than the Eddie Murphy mess.

I can't seem to pull myself away from the Criterion sale at Barnes & Noble; thankfully, today is the last day of the sale.

This little batch just arrived:
