That's the one. You should realize that those PM numbers now include rentals. That's why I posted the sales only numbers. And they are retail sales split among a dozen disc creators.

Disney's loss on Disney+ for their most recent quarter was $500 million.

So how much do you think their portion of those PM sales helped their bottom line?

It's probably just the usual shtick that "disc sales are down a zillion% for the umpteenth year in a row" and all the "blah blah blah" that follows from it.

Nonetheless, Disney has decided to release these formerly exclusive to D+ shows (their "golden geese" as referred to by some here) on disc, that "lost cause" known as physical media. Has Disney lost their senses...or have they finally come to them?

I had the hardest time finishing the first season of the Mandalorian it was quite a boring show.

I liked WandaVision and Loki

I'm glad they are doing this because it's easier than ever to cancel D+

I'll just get the Disney stuff I want and not be singed up for a service I don't use.

Physical is fun.

I'm officially speechless.
They are smart to do this. Best way to preserve the art. Blu Rays are forever.

I thought you were a person that cared about facts. The only cold hard fact I see here today is that Disney is releasing their Disney+ shows on disc.
You know, that media that is "dying" according to a lot of people, including you.
Why do you think they're doing that ? Is it a trick by not releasing the third season and thinking they'll lure us to Disney+ ?
It won't happen. They're releasing discs now so they can have my money but if they refuse to release S3 I'll still not subscribe to +.

This site is pathetic today!

It is taking 10-15 minutes to reply to anyone today. It's probably all the damn ads that this website infects itself with trying to load up first whether or not we have them blocked. You would think that this site would make enough money when we click thru to Amazon without having to resort to all these random unrelated ads that interest absolutely no one.

Same as it ever was, new tech with the same old headaches.

"Take video streaming. In search of better profitability, Netflix, Disney, and other providers have been raising prices. The various bundles are now as annoyingly confusing as cable, and cost basically the same. Somehow, we're also paying to watch ads. How did that happen?"

"You can still stream without ads, but the cost of this is getting so high, and the bundling is so complex, that it's getting as bad as cable — the technology that streaming was supposed to radically improve upon."

The Nvidia Shield (Android) now has a big row of icons for free streaming content and no way to get rid of it by using customizing your home screen. It is grayed out for the uninstall option. I clicked disable, restarted but the row is still there and active. I really hate all these adds poked in my face from various devices and places. The good part, rarely use the Shield or ATV4K these days.

Been using AdblockPlus for years on WEB browsers but in recent times been getting pop-ups saying I am using a ad blocker. The Chrome and Seamonkey pop-up blocker does not work on these but I found that if I disable Java for that site I no longer get those pop-ups.

I really have no problem with a well done ad but most are made on the cheap, obnoxious and targeted for the lowest common denominator market.

Rant over, off box.

Starting tomorrow, and over the next six days, I have four appointments on four different days in and around St. Louis. It will be an ordeal by itself and to have to travel during this brutal heat will make it even harder. The heat index will be around 120 tomorrow; it was 117 yesterday. I can barely make it to my mailbox and back when it is this hot. I'd rather stay home and watch movies if I had my druthers.

Google/Android is absolutely whorish with their ads. The home screen on "smart" TVs with Google/Android TV is a cluttered eyesore and all just to shove mostly unwanted streaming apps in our face.

Understood. For us it has been trips for blood work, yearly checks, spouse with pain in lower molar with old crown. Had to have root canal (Gentlewave Procedure) and new crown. Total will be > $4000 just for that one tooth, don't have insurance either. But we keep our chins up and keep moving the best we can.

Since you have a external streaming box is there anyway to make you TV into a dumb one?

This is one reason I love the ONN 4K streaming box that is $19.88 at Walmart.

You can replace the launcher and delete the built in launcher and presto nothing but your services and a wall paper you can edit.

You can also put some type of Linux on this box and I don't recommend that. The ad free home page mod requires almost no hacking.

I leave my TV connected to the internet for firmware updates, so I'm kinda stuck with the home screen making bad viewing recommendations on services that I don't even use.

Even when the internet is down, the TV home screen is littered with apps that I have no interest in. I use at most 6 apps, infrequently, and when I do stream I use that nice Roku Ultra that you got for me. I might be able to remove the unwanted app icons from the TV home screen, but I have been too lazy to do so. I am usually on the TV home screen only long enough to pick a disc player input, so it is really a minor annoyance, but an annoyance just the same.

You know the drawback to the work around for Andriod/Google TV boxes is when you open Netflix or Prime you have a cluttered home page there full of things they are trying to push on you.

Dental work is outrageous and even when you do have insurance it does not cover very much at all. The best policy that I ever had only covered $1500, per year, for any actual dental work. Most policies that I had only covered $1000.

I hope that your wife is no longer in any pain.
