Hi everyone!
Living in Canada and thinking of ordering the 4K European digipack of the trilogies. Do you think it’s a good idea? I mean, there is no collector version in the US/CA other than the huge collector edition which is ugly and the new cover of individual movies are ugly. |

But seeing th prices online, I think I will wait until a re-release or someone selling for cheap. At $200+ shipping it's crazy! There is a bluray version in the UK. Does it have the color correction of the 4k movies or is it the same as the 2015 version? |

![]() ![]() In Europe, all Blu-ray and DVD releases (both individual and bundled) since 2020 have the 4K remasters (aka 2020 remaster). Those released in 2019 or before are the original 2011 Blu-ray remasters. The 2015 versions are the digital versions without the Fox fanfare and were exclusively digital. They were never released on disc. Last edited by Roonan; 02-09-2024 at 02:06 PM. |

They are selling each trilogy Blu-ray (based on the 4K remasters) in digipacks. I posted those in my previous comment above yours.

Then have pre-booked ROTS, RO and ANH (can only pre-book up to 4 screenings with Odeon Limitless). ESB, ROTJ, TFA & TLJ to follow bookings once I clear a viewing at a time. I love SW, so absolutely adore that they are bringing them all back. I hadn't seen the prequels at a cinema since I was a kid (was 12 when I last saw ROTS at a cinema), so being able to relive some of my childhood moments again is amazing. |

Cex have the prequel trilogy set for £8.
The new set, with the bonus discs, is £30 new. I'm not looking for all bells and whistles, and don't care about the extra fluff. I'm just glad that Attack of the Clones is uncut on BD. So, is there a comparison regarding the original prequel BD set, and the new one, regarding transfers/encodes? I'd like to have some idea before making a final decision. Thanks ![]() |

![]() ![]() Although The Phantom Menace had a new master for the old BD, the new BD has a new color timing from the 4K master: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=13916&d2=14081&c=5419 Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are virtually identical. For all three, the old set has DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1 audio while the new set has 7.1. The old set has the movies with the aspect ratio of 2.35:1 while the new set is 2.39:1 (slightly cropped at the top and bottom). The encodes of both sets are all pretty good, with high bitrate and no artifacts to speak of. Honestly, for £8 I'd take the old set. |

![]() ![]() I somehow don't think many ten year old prequel boxed sets are getting shoplifted at the moment though. My local CEX had eight mint copies of Touch Of Evil appear on the shelf one morning. An amazing coincidence that eight people would blind buy and then trade in the same modestly distributed movie on the same day. Said nobody. |

Same. Hodegpodge collection here. 9 Matching Steelbooks would be welcome to go with the D+ stuff. Then the other 2 films also need to be incorporated somehow.
