With the ice breaker man, go for it! I did it earlier solo. Just know the spots to keep your distance and pick em off. First area just stay back where the exit to the cave is at, enemies never rush or swarm you. The devil walker part I just stay under that little bridge area and pop shot his legs, easy cover. Last part where you enter the lair I just stay under the area where the stairs are located and pump rockets/ ice breaker in em! Took me about 40 mins to finish it solo!

That's how I felt about the weekly 2 weeks ago, and just couldn't finish it solo. I'm hoping Nightfall on 28 will be different since I know all of the nooks and crannies of this strike.

You have to be patient. The hardest part of the Devil's Lair is the first part...the mesh layers. The key is to hang out way back in the area where you first get to it (where there are some stairs), or in the opposite exit area...where the crashed hive spaceship is. It's tough, but doable.

If I fail, I fail. I would just be disappointed if I didn't try it with it being Devil's Lair this week. All of my friends are on PS4, while I'm on the 3, so getting a fire team together is a little harder.

Yeah man, it was pretty tough. If we passed that area everything would of been smooth sailing. I'm giving it another shot this evening. Don't be surprised if you receive another invite

PS. I got the mic issue fixed. Apparently, in the roster section. My profile Fireteam setting for invites was set to "closed" meaning I wasn't able to see other people's clan name or able to hear them over a mic. Not sure what I did the other day, but I put my Fireteam back to "Public" and played some Crucible with JJ last night.

That's the auto rifle I want! I think you need a Crucible Rank of 3, or was it from the Vanguard which you just need a Vanguard Rank of 2? Can't remember, I just got to Crucible Rank 2 and I need to spend more time on it so I can get Rank 3.

Yeah I think so. I was so excited when I got Rank 2 yesterday. Went into the Tower to buy the Grim Citizen III Rifle then realized I need Rank 3

I can get the Vanguard Auto Rifle, just need to get more Vanguard Marks.

I ran the Nightfall with my other 28 this morning and got the Monte Carlo autorifle. Upgraded does bonus damage from the hip. Not otherwise very special looking. Too many exotics now. Can't use them all, much less upgrade them all. Probably have to start choosing which ones to dismantle.

I might need to find an alternate party to raid with this week. Some work hour conflicts among the regular crew may lead to a weekday, daytime run, which I can not do this week (or most weeks).

Man, the Raid Helmets are the SWEETEST looking pieces of headgear out there.

I NEED to start doing that on Hard. L29 should be enough, I'm seeing a lot of 29s out there with Hard Raid rewards like the rocket launcher/handcannon/helmet.

And I'd kill for the Monte Carlo, lol. That and Gjallalhorn are the only two weapons I'm still playing for.

My dream build is the Prime Zealot Helm, Prime Zealot Gauntlets, Crest of Alpha Lupi chest, and Prime Zealot Boots. One out of four so far!

This was my first Legendary drop and I have used it ever since! Even after the patch I can stay back and pick people off with it, it's my favorite weapon so far.

Have you tried on hard yet? We did not try very long, but we were getting overrun at the Templar. Mostly 28's with I think one 29. Maybe all at 29 could get it done.

That's what I'm thinking too. The damage penalty at 28 is more severe.

I don't know. For those without at least 2 pieces of raid armor, it's all about using shards on regular legendary gear. I told the regular team I would waste the shards to get to 29, if everyone was up for another attempt. I'm about 28.9 right now, and I think I have four or five slots I can fill to rank up. I can usually get 8-10 of them every day with the daily and public events, so it's not that big of a deal to use them anymore.

I am still trying to get together with some people to do the VOG, what a PITA to try and track down 5 random people to play with at the same time!

I hate having to depend on other people to play MY game, I feel like I am on facebook friending random people to help water my crops and crap....lol

I'm up for it almost any time. I would still like to get a consistent group that goes on a regular schedule as it appears that we might have now.
I also know how hard it can be to get into a click; therefore i'm willing to help any of these guys that have not Raided yet. Maybe help them form their own group.
It looks like there are enough of them to form a 3rd group. They just need to know how to do the Raid and need some organization.
