I think so too. I've got probably close to 30 hours on them and they've experienced plenty of battle scenes during that time. After all the explosions and machine gun fire I've put them through I think they can pretty much handle anything now. I'm playing Crimson Tide now and it's rocking the house.

Hey guys, I'm wondering what you think is the better speaker/deal. Amazon has the CF-70. and the RC-50 on sale. $249 vs $279. I'm not familar with either of these speakers, so any advice on them would be welcome...btw I currently have polk 70's fronts and CS-2 center powered by a Emotiva XPA-3 thanks

The RC-50s would be a step up over both the CF-70s and your polks, the CF-70s, IMO, would be a step up over your polks as well from a sonics and detail stand point. I would suggest that you get the RC-50s. Then like Miker and MCruz you can buy the RC-LCR off of ebay for about $350. I think you would be absolutely amazed at the improvement in SQ with the RC-50s.

The RC 50 is absolutely a fabulous speaker and can be paired to any kind of gear they actually retailed at around 1800$ a pair and honestly at that price they were well worth it, now at 600$ a pair it's a complete steal, keep in mind this is end of line so if you want matching front sond stage the LCR is at a 369$.

Yopu could upgrade your gear down the road and yuou will be amaze by their musical sound in 2 channels listening, silky smooth highs with great details, very ear pleasing and will not tire your ears at high volume.

Sorry to keep the anticipation high, the RC-50 arrived last night, unscathed. Some posters over at AVS have had speakers from WWStereo arrive damaged, I've had nothing but good experiences in my 3 transactions with them.

Anyway, I've been playing music through it at low volume for about 8 hours now. I'm thinking I'll run Audyssey tomorrow and then throw in a Blu-ray.

Pictures coming as soon as I can get my buddy over here with his camera.

Yea, how you like them stands eh Justin? You can't beat phone books.
I'll be ordering some stands when my birthday comes around in a about a week.
I'm glad to see you got your RC-50 in and looking forward to seeing pics.

Hey Mike, I watched the Hulk this morning and your right, audio is top notch through the LCR. I picked that movie up just a couple of weeks ago in fact.

Just wait Justin,

I think for you, you should get yourself two Hsu STF-2 or a single VTF-2 MK3 sub, I think when you watch Hulk again, you will be knocked out of your seat.

I put Polyfill in my sub the other day, tested it with Hurt Locker, Transformers and Inception, and it blew me the F--- away.

Hey Steve, I think you may have misunderstood. That was my post, as I was replying to Justin's comment about my RC-10's sitting on phone books. I was the one that watched the Hulk this morning. However, a new sub is probably going to be my next upgrade, even before a new receiver. Maybe late this year or early next year after I'm well established in my new job.

BTW, what is polyfill?

Mike,

It was the 2nd time I watched the Incredible Hulk on BD. Amazing sound. Now I want to rewatch Iron Man 1 & 2 with the LCR.

I watched Iron Man for the 1st time when it played on tv about a week ago. I'm sure it's better on blu-ray, but I wasn't too impressed with it on tv for some reason.

The 1st one is better than the 2nd one.

I prefer Batman over Iron Man anyway.

Yea, out of all of the super hero movies out there I prefer Batman as well. I see there will be a Captain America out soon. That should be good, hopefully.

Actually I knew what you were talking about, my comment was that once you have 1-2 very capable subs, you will rewatch Hulk and be amazed yet again. Like you were with the RC-LCR

Polyfill is a synthetic fire resistant wool-like material that you can put into a subwoofer or speaker, its a way to provide acoustic dampening. Itll slow down the airs movement and resonance. My sub sounds deeper and tighter and fuller now. I love it.

Used it in car stereo sub box and dramatically improves SQ.

Thanks Callas & BigAl for your advice earlier. I am close to jumping in on the RC-50s , and RC- LCR . I'm wondering if my Polk M-30 surrounds would be somewhat compatible with the Energys, at least in the short term. If not, what would be a good choice in the Energy line? thanks again..
