Took me all of 15 seconds to find this information. Why couldn't you before you posted?
Because I knew that you eventually would. I work smarter, not harder.

Answer me this . . . Can Comcast afford a loss like that? Yes or No will do.

I have cronies? I should design uniforms for them so we can have drill practice and march around opining as we go.

It's great that so many shows get a chance on streaming, but most of them fail quickly. It has been a standing joke that Netflix will approve almost any idea for a series that is brought to them; they throw everything at the wall to see what sticks. Little does.
Guess you have never been exposed to Asian TV productions have you? Live acting not just Anima and Manga

Netflix does have some of the more popular Manga titles such as the famous OnePiece series. How large is this?

With over 1,000 episodes across 20 seasons (divided into 10 sagas with 52 different story arcs) in the series, specials, OVAs and shorts, it can be difficult to decide when and where to put the One Piece movies into your (re)watch list.
They just released the first few episodes of OnePiece live acting episodes yesterday on Netflix. It actually follows the Manga series fairly well. Effects are decent too. A ITV production with South African Studios utilized.

As for various China/Taiwan/Korea/Japan and other countries live acting series of many genres, they are usually 12, 16, 24, 35, 45 or more episodes. Couple recommendations to off start with, but they have many genres of content in Asia, a lot that western cultures don't undertake because it too expensive to produce. Think of them as limited TV series produced in the same year, instead of seasons.

We're kind of talking about two different things. I was talking about shows made by Netflix while you seem to be talking about shows offered by Netflix. Different animals.

By the way, your second link leads to a show that is leaving Netflix by September 30th. Anyone interested in it should start watching it soon. Another part of SVOD's (and cable TVs) charm: content that comes and goes.

I seem to remember being told that streaming will just keep getting better and better in terms of A/V quality, selection, and therefore value for the money spent. Instead, we get ads, price increases, less new content, and a crackdown on password sharing. That's the streaming future we have all been waiting for alright.

I see it being an ever more common option that trades a longer customer commitment in exchange for a discount, but never a requirement. Month-to-month plans will just cost more the same as ad-free plans do.

How many people spend $1500 in one month on discs like you did?

42 people? How should I know?

My buying 118 titles in one month is not typical of my behavior. I am sort of not denying myself much lately what with my situation being what it is. Often times watching movies and banging away at this keyboard is all that I have the stamina to do. I find enjoyment where I can.

Regardless of how atypical my spending may be, I am also a streaming customer and I do yet live in the all too real world.

Services rendered monthly will eventually get a price hike. To think they will stay the same price forever is living outside the real world.

AVODs - are cheaper than SVODs. You don't have to choose that option. You can continue to watch ad free content. So, complaining about ads being added - if you don't choose that option how is it affecting you? Why should you care that people want to save money and don't care about ads in their content?

Pass Word Sharing - that's stealing services. Getting something for free you are not paying for. They have every right to crack down on such theft. Just like they put pirate websites out of business that steal digital copies of their content and offer them for free.

Price increases are inevitable, sure, but when they also come with worse compression and less new content then people certainly have a "real world" reason to complain. No one likes paying more and getting less.

The point was never about what type of plan people choose, ad-free or ad-supported. The point was that streaming needs ad revenue because subscriptions alone clearly won't make them profitable despite the incredible demand for their services.

You are so judgmental and holier than thou. The "real world" is not so black and white. The crackdown on password sharing also means that families with children, for one example, that spend some of their time away at school no longer have access to their family's streaming plan unless they pay extra for it per kid. It is not just "thieves" that are getting booted, it includes people's children that for years were able to enjoy their parent's subscriptions as part of the value of their plan. This arbitrary crackdown lessens the value of the service while it steadily increases in price. Again, paying more and getting less.

I pay for Amazon Prime and for Max. I share my Max subscription with my family and my family shares their Netflix subscription with me and so far I can still use it the same as I ever have, but the reality is that Netflix has so little content of interest to me that I very rarely use it. Even for free I find it not worth my time. If I lose that access I won't care one damn bit nor will I ever apologize to anyone for having shared services, each way, with my family.

Which is unfortunately the case in the real world of today. I got hit with a $200 a month increase in my monthly rent and . . . they say the pool needs repair, so they closed it.

It's sort of the other way around. With declining linear TV and Pay TV, advertisers need more outlets. And streaming is the obvious choice. It's very hard to turn your back on billions of dollars of free money.

Cry me a river with your holier than thou sob story. And isn't it amazing that when Netflix cracked down, they saw/seeing an increase in their sub count which is directly related to said crackdown.

Please tell us how much it costs to add another family member to the existing plan. I'm pretty sure it's another of your making a mountain out of a mole hill deals.
