There is no hypocrisy involved; only irony.

In my youth I worked at a gas station and people driving the most expensive gas guzzling sports cars were the ones that would complain the loudest when the price of premium gas increased, which is something that they knew that their expensive cars required from the outset. They drive and insure cars costing up to and above six figures and they had an absolute fit when premium gas went up 10 cents a gallon.

Same thing with smokers. When the prices climbed my wealthiest customers would bellyache to the high heavens about the cost yet they still continued to buy their favorite name brand cigarettes and they would not even consider trying generics to save money. Quitting was out of the question, too; the mere suggestion would send them into orbit.

No one in these examples was being deceptive. They were genuinely pissed off, but, oh, the irony!

Actually, I have to subscribe to my cellphone service's top tier plan in order to get this perk. It is not really "free"; nothing is.

I can easily cancel it by dropping to a cheaper cellphone service plan.

I care because taking shows away lessens the value of the perk and the perk is why I have the top tier plan.

What is the difference price wise in the two CP plans?

More like easy to jump to conclusions and make judgments.

I seriously doubt that you take the time to psychoanalyze people's post histories and even if you are that "driven", you lack the qualifications to do this type of work.

I do not think that you will find that quote in any of my posts, but feel free to look for it through my nearly 13,000 posts.

It is indeed easy to be judgmental. I try to resist being that way, but you seem to have embraced it.

No - understanding human nature as it pertains to the subject at hand.

40 years as a successful salesman says you are 100% dead wrong.

No, it is not a better fit.

No one in my examples was discussing a moral standard or belief system; they were not saying "do not do this because it is wrong!" while, in fact, doing the very thing that they forbade others to do. That's hypocrisy.

They were just venting their anger about the cost of premium gas and cigarettes. The irony lies in the fact that they were among the most able to afford these incremental price increases while complaining the most vociferously about them.

Wow, you really have taken a hard turn here. People here display their purchases because one member doing so spurs them on to do the same. We like to see what others have bought and it’s possible we may be swayed by their opinion on a possible blind buy.

You make it sound like some secret society, it’s a Blu-ray forum, it’s what we care about.

This is something else Lee, even for you.

I have had plenty of jobs that required a psych evaluation. Funny how I was never sent to see a salesman, though. Think of the money that my employers could have saved compared to seeing a shrink!

My late brother-in-law was a car salesman. He could sell damn near anything to anyone, but he was way too self absorbed to analyze anyone beyond what it took to separate them from their money.

I'm not saying that describes you, just to be clear. That would be very judgmental of me.

The last time that I checked it was about a $10 per month difference, but that was some time ago. I haven't looked in awhile.

Let me amend my statement:

40 years as a successful salesman selling to fortune 500 executives says you are 100% dead wrong.

I have been President, Vice President of Marketing and CEO of companies I have worked in, but I always considered myself a salesman.

I have purchased some titles that others posted about in this very thread. In some cases I did not know about said titles.

Found another western that I will add to my shelf, and yes, to the Zappiti NAS as well.

Indeed. You inspired me to buy two blu-rays last week. Who knows what other expenses you, and other members (looking at you cheez avenger!), will cause me?

Yes, thanks to cheez avenger I am now on the two at a time disc plan with GameFly. I remember them from years ago in a dispute with the post office but had forgot about them till cheez avenger posted about them in this thread.

Also The Wicker Man and Duel, although I couldn’t turn you to Hellraiser 4K boxset!

I have bought many discs thanks to other members posting their purchase decisions in this thread and in others. It is especially easy when they post those clickable images that take you right to the blu-ray.com page for that title.

I am not likely to import that Hellraiser 4K boxset. I liked the first two films, especially the original, but I have not seen the others- and I have not heard good things about them.

I own the original film on laserdisc, too. I have this edition and it is autographed by Clive Barker:

There is an even nicer set signed by the entire cast, but I missed out on that one.
