I have to chuckle a bit at Temple leading Penn State at the half. I suspect Penn State will end up winning, but how far have the mighty fallen in State College?

Well it usually helps to have an actual coach and not some figurehead who sits up in a box during games. Ya, I know Paterno is hurt and I respect what he did for college football, it's just sad to see coaches that don't know when to retire. At least FSU had the guts to finally cut loose Bowden.

Come to think of it does Penn St. even have a clear successor? As far as I know they don't have a Jimbo Fisher type ready to just step in like FSU did. I think Al Golden was once mentioned as a possible successor, but now he's at Miami.

i don't think they do. i assume they'd just try and recruit some big name from another school. i mean, think of it, "who's gonna be the guy to replace the legendary Paterno?!?!" i think they'd get a lot of bidders willing to take a look.

of course, it would help if Penn State was a top 5 team in their own conference more than once a decade.

I'm sure they'd have some interest in Dan Mullen. He's from Pennsylvania, but he also turned down interviews from both Miami and Florida. So maybe he really wants to see how far he can take Mississippi State. I guess Penn State could see if Urban Meyer is ready to coach again.

I think Meyer would be great at Penn St. Unfortunately I think he ends up at Ohio St. once the fill-in guy gets canned, which shouldn't be too long.

At least 10 schools have reached out to the ACC to inquire about joining. I REALLY hope UCF is one of them. We're a fast growing program and it's worth a shot.

I'd like to see them join the ACC too. What I like about them is that they also bring a respectable basketball program to go with football. This morning I was trying to figure out what the final two schools the ACC will add. (Assuming Texas doesn't join)

I love it how Ohio St. just barely beat Toledo at home last week and this week Boise St. goes into Toledo and destroys them 40-15.

Auburn's long win streak appears to be nearing it's end. After winning nail biters the first two games of the season they're trailing Clemson 35-24 heading into the 4th.

Georgia Tech accumulated 604 yards rushing and 770 yards of total offense today against Kansas... Holy shit. Just when I thought the triple option offense was running out of steam (and just when Josh Nesbitt graduated), they might have put something unstoppable together. Will the insane stats continue against the likes of VaTech, Clemson, etc?

I doubt it. Kansas really doesn't look like they have much of a defense. They've given up 132 points in 3 games, and it's not like they've been going up against the Alabamas of the world.

UCLA - Texas looks like the opposite of last year's game.

Last year UCLA went to Texas and beat them by forcing turnover after turnover.

Yeah, it looks like we're getting back on track since we finally benched Gilbert.

Ohio St. is a little less hatable without anyone on their sidelines wearing one of those ridiculous looking sweater vests. Nice first half for Miami.

Yikes.. that FSU receiver Kenny Shaw just took a really scary hit. He got pancaked between two OK players. He's been down for several minutes now. Being taken away in a stretcher.
