I may never use the service but I do like to see people have options about disc rental.

Default The NeverEnding Story

Gave up ever seeing a new US release so importing an old favorite. About $31 via Amazon.

Personally I prefer this cut anyway, honestly. It’ll likely never see a US release. It’s a solid disc, as well.

Default Collecting vs Hoarding

I was listening to Cereal at Midnight talk about Storage Ideas for Movie Collecting, and thought this is getting crazy. He had some Plastic Sleeves to get rid of the case for storage space. I have been there when I Collected Physical, paper and plastic sleeves with Catalog Movie Binders for keeping track of all the Movies. Making shelves for Movie Storage in Alphabetical Order.

So the main difference between a Hoarder and Collector is the Level of Organization and have a Large Property Size. If you start to run out of room you loose organization, and then it becomes a Battle. I know most of you think you are Collectors, but it's something to think about!

I have had that one on my wishlist for awhile, too, over at Amazon.de along with .

I forget to check my overseas wishlists as diligently as I do my domestic ones.

Please let us know what you think of it once you get it and watch it.

Loose organisation? Is that decent organisation but creating too much of a gap in how you stack discs? I like my discs nice and tight, uniform across the storage shelves.

Otherwise, you are losing me.

My collection is in alphabetical order. All of it. I watched that clip and he made mention of titles that may not be "display friendly," but I don't care. I don't necessarily display them for other people. I have DVD/BD/4K discs shelved that way accordingly.

Years ago, I did put a decent amount into several of those disc holders, but haven't gone that way since.

Thankfully I have a large property size or to better phrase it - enough room for my stuff.

I watched part of an episode of Hoarders and realized my media collection will never be that type of problem.

Having things means taking care of them. The new generations can't be bothered more often than not. Thankfully there's something for everyone in this world.

Most of my movies resides in the black box on the stand to the left and my music resides in the smaller white box, under the black box. All my disc content is still stored on shelves and alphabetized as always.

alchav21 must be a really bored person if disc storage methods is high on his list of things to post about.

Whether its a physical media collection, or something else entirely, pretty much everyone that I know has a large collection of something...and "something" is usually plural. People tend to accumulate the things that they like over their lifetime.

Our self-appointed shrink does not worry about people having lots of stuff...unless that stuff happens to be discs. His motives remain as transparent as ever.

I like to strip naked and cover the floor in discs and lie in them, I think it’s pretty harmless.

[Show spoiler]Sadly, the store security doesn’t agree

Note to self: do not ever buy a used disc from Steedeel.

Joking aside, I am a neat freak. Everything has to be in order and organised by genre. Thankfully, I have an entire spare double bedroom to store all my discs.
Most people buy a two bedroom home for future family additions, I bought it to home my discs!

Understood.

In my unfinished basement mechanical/storage area I want to be as organized as possible. Hardly anyone else besides us ever sees this area but I want to know where to find stuff. Need to do some more organizing of shelved items.

Just because I prefer Digital Streaming doesn't mean I don't Love Movies. I'm past collecting them on Disc....Been there done that! I went through all the Storage Problems, with Sleeves, Shelves, and Cabinets. I still Collect but it's Digital, and for my viewing needs the Quality is Fantastic!

I never said that you did not love movies. Nor did anyone else as far as I can tell. How you come to these bizarre conclusions is worthy of a research grant.

The only large collections that you seem to worry about are disc collections; you made a point to suggest that those who have large disc collections might well be hoarders and therefore mentally ill. That was the entire point of your linking to a "Psychology Today" article in your previous post.

How about you let those of us with large disc libraries decide how best to store and organize them? We can handle it without your help.

More importantly, how about you leave diagnosing mental illnesses to those qualified to do so?

I believe a certain amount mechanical dexterity comes natural to a person or it does not. My younger brother always had a problem with left and right threads for nuts and bolts but you should see him design a house/building.

Some would be comfortable doing what I am doing (below), most would not and that is understandable.

I added three more titles to my

I did not think that it was possible, but that cover for The Exorcist is far uglier in person than any screen image suggested.
