I plan to have floor standing for L+R so at least the Studio 60.

I am running Goldenear Triton II's with my Denon 3808. If you want a phenomenal sounding speaker audition them. They sounded better than the Paradigm S series to me. The price goes up $500 feb 1 though.

The Two are still not all that pricey all things considered so it's fine but I have a question about them so I'll move it to the GE thread.

I am running Goldenear Triton II's, with my Denon 3808.

Running GoldenEar's II's, Sat50 and Sat3's with the Denon 4311. sounds pretty good. I did have a 150 watt external amp driving the II's but I have since removed the amp as I really can't tell any real difference during movies, like Transformers, LOTR . The 4311 is doing a good job all by itself and the Tritons are pretty easy to push.

Hey guys just bought the Denon 1712 last week and still playing around with the audio and was wondering how can i tell if my receiver is decoding Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD?when i watch my blus the display says multichannel is it suppose to display what its decoding?like this?

On my 3808 i had to tell my bluray player to let the Denon do the decoding.

First off, congrats. Now it sounds like you're sending it an LPCM signal. Which is fine as it's lossless. If you want your 1712 to display TrueHD and DTS-HD MA you will need to bitstream from your BD player via HDMI.

Thanks,So all i have to do is go to my settings on my Bluray player and switch it to Bitstream,And this will display What audio is decoding?

Yes, set your BD player to bitstream. You will need an HDMI cable to get the lossless codecs when bitstreaming. Now pop in a movie, turn it to 11 and let us know how it sounds. Pics are cool too.

I have a Sony BDP-S470 and when i go to the setting it doesn't let me change it to bitsream, only when i go to my setting on my ps3.

got it to work on my ps3 but why wont it work on my sony bluray layer?

I have the 570 sony bdp you have to go to the main menu and then go down to audio settings hit enter then go to BD AUDIO SETTING and set it to DIRECT.

This allows your new denon to process the signal.

This is all it says,Doesnt let me switch anything to direct.

Good to hear you got it all figured it. I'm not familiar with the S470. Where in the menu was it located?
