Sure, but what most don't want to see is that UV tried to have any and all providers connect to it, but they refuse. So, from your above statement, what UV is trying to do is much better for the consumer as a whole. So what about those that refuse to play nice and join the group?

Right, you can. But the vast majority of people fire up their Vudu to watch their UV movies. Not "Paramount Movies".

Yeah and I wish they did. End of the day, I don't care if it's UV or Keychest that can get all the major storefronts on the same page. But it's better for everybody if iTunes, Vudu, Amazon, and Google could all be linked for all studios. Surely we can agree with that. Those are the four major players.

How's that different from the vast majority of people firing up their VUDU for DMA titles?

I do agree.

To me, man....one locker to link to everyone is what would make the most sense and be beneficial to the customer. I just don't get how when group A tried to do that, they are ridiculed, but when group B does the same thing, they are revolutionary.

Do we know that? Amazon and iTunes aren't exactly bit players.

It looks like all of the Disney coaster disc digital copies just went from hd to sd on dma and vanished all together on vudu.
I read this and checked my VUDU account; the total count had gone down by 3. unlinked and relinked DMA, and its back to normal. I've no idea what was missing, but they must've been Disney titles...

Disney wants everyone on board so they don't try to screw with their partners. UV made it a point to slap Apple, in part by some studios dropping iTunes DC codes, so Apple won't play ball.

Vudu is the only linked provider that glitched. iTunes and Microsoft are both hd with no movies missing as far as I can tell. I cant check google as I don't have it linked and don't have a good way to check amazon this week but as far as I can tell this is a problem only vudu and to a lesser degree dma is having.

all the other studios basically authorize and transfer movies when you link accounts meaning this glitch isn't impacting the other providers. This is pretty much a small bug on dmas end that vudu doubled in size by handling dma like it handles uv. This really just shows the fragility of uv as when one link fails the whole house of cards starts falling apart.

To call it a Vudu glitch is to understate the problem. The relevant movies are downgraded to SD in DMA.

The 3 Disney codes are all xml codes you added though iTunes and they are now sd since you re linked. I would not relink to fix this problem it will probably only make your account harder to fix.

its a dma glitch that vudu glitched to double its size thanks to the way it handles dma transfers which is different from all the other providers (they seem to handle them like uv which is simply a bad system for this very reason)

Anyway most glitches I give Disney a pass on because for Disney I can call them and probably get all this fixed in 5 to 10 mins but with vudu they have rather shitty customer support. I have 2 films that are sd that should be hd from months ago and its honestly not worth the trouble to try and get it fixed on vudu.

Again...the UV bashing. DMA is having issues, that is obvious. They changed XML codes to SD. I also own Frozen Sing Along (shows in DMA) and that title is missing on iTunes as well.

Wait....so Apple wouldn't join UV because some studios dropped iTunes codes? I must have the timeline wrong. I mean, I was sure UV was discussed, and everyone had the opportunity to join before codes were even released. Wouldn't that mean iTunes pretty much said $%& before codes were even released? Come on, guys.

The problem is definitely Disney if you read the DMA thread. All providers messed up especially iTunes.

I love how a DMA issue is turned into a UV issue by the Disney sheep. LOL

I bash them all equally it just happens vudu (the only good provider uv has) screw up more often then all the rest of the services put together. I will bash amazon for video quality any day of the week though and I'll bash iTunes on pricing (but overall they are the most reliable in many ways) because overall I lean towards physical for its pricing and reliability.

I mean i could bash on dma but overall dma is still working at 90% power even with this glitch as movies are not missing from any provider except vudu (at least for me) which still leaves me with 5 other good alternatives unlike uv when vudu goes down

I understand and I don't try to ridicule UV. I don't know the details but there's gotta be a reason iTunes and Amazon (among others) said no to UV and okay to Disney/Keychest.

Sigh....

As much as I want to crap on it, VUDU is a great service. I love the convenience of streaming TV shows and movies on my iPhone when connected to a WiFi network.

I also like this Disc + Digital option where you buy the movie digitally and have the UHD, Blu-ray or DVD mailed to you by Walmart for a few dollars more.

Does anyone take advantage of the "Movies On Us" section in VUDU? Sometimes they have okay stuff that is worth watching. And I don't mind sitting through a couple commercials if it's free.

I think I am going to start buying all my movies here. They release earlier. They take up no physical space in my apartment. The picture and sound quality don't hold a candle to Blu-ray. But how good does it really need to be? I'm not watching on a 120" 4K OLED TV with the best studio monitor surround sound system money can buy.

I don't buy non-porting movies, so I've watched 'Silence of the Lambs' and recently one of the Pink Panther movies. They don't bombard you with commercials. It wasn't bad at all.

Exactly. Apple and Disney were the 2 major no shows from the DECE that was formed to build a universal system. How can you not even show up at the table, and then complain? These companies did show up:

Adobe Systems
Akamai Technologies
Alcatel Lucent
Arxan Technologies
Best Buy
BluFocus Inc.
British Sky Broadcasting
British Telecom
castLabs
Catch Media
Cineplex Entertainment
CinemaNow
Cisco
Comcast Corporation
Cox Communications
CSG Systems' Content Direct
Deluxe Digital
Dolby Laboratories
DTS (sound system)
FandangoNow
FilmFlex
Fox Entertainment Group
Fujitsu
Hewlett Packard
Huawei Technologies
IBM
Intel
Kaleidescape
Lionsgate
Motorola Mobility
Nagravision
NBC Universal
NDS Group
Neustar
Nokia
PacketVideo
Panasonic
Paramount Pictures
Royal Philips Electronics
QuickPlay Media
RIAA
Red Bee Media
Rovi Corporation
Saffron Digital
Samsung Electronics
SeaChange International
Sonic Solutions
Sony Corporation
Switch Communications
TalkTalk
Technicolor
Testronic Labs
Toggle
Toshiba
Verance
Verimatrix
VeriSign Inc.
Verizon Communications, Inc.
Vubiquity
Vudu
Warner Bros. Entertainment
Widevine Technologies

Most itunes users from the time remember it differently. All of a sudden the ****&^%$% studios took away our codes! Remember the "die UV die" or "UV is a solution in search of a problem"? Some just couldn't understand that there were millions of people like us that couldn't use itunes only codes. Oh well, it all works great now!

I guess the question is are they going to fix this whoever is responsible? No way I can handle SD in my collection. But I don't want to start buying FULL codes to replace what happened until I know if we are screwed for good on these XML titles. Of course some like Lion King we are screwed on until they rerelease the film.
