Just played for the first time in ages and I LOVED IT. It's good to be back and I even had sharpshooting G1ggs on my side for most of the games too.

There is no comparison to bf3, etc great though that is, KZ3 has that something extra you only get with a first party game. I'll definitely be playing this more in the future.

After a few games on Frozen Dam I did have trouble finding games elsehwere, but I'll be back on later tonight.

It was funny listening to the new guys between games "why are we playing this and losing, we should go back to battlefied 3" "I just unlocked the disguise to look like the other side, I want to try it out"

Killzone 3, still top dog on PS3 for my money.

It's available now as the Multiplayer Demo. Unfortunately, when I downloaded the free trial it didn't come with Botzone.

There goes my $15 tomorrow...

I played a game this morning, and it was probably the best game I've ever played (with KZ2 or KZ3). I placed first in a completely full game and was doing everything right. I'm not terribly awesome at the game (I usually place around the 4-8th place range), so it felt good to dominate for once.

I'm in the UK myself and looking to get back into this again; what time do you guys tend to get together for your most regular Killzone 3 sessions?

I only jumped on for a few games with Partridge on Saturday afternoon as I've been meaning to have a few KZ3 games since they'd released the MP demo and also it was Double XP.
To me, it is still one of the best FPS's around
I usually get my FPS fix from BF3 but if anyones on KZ3 then I'll join for some Helghan action
I'm even tempted to buy the DLC pack

G1ggs, Killzone 3 is about 200% better in all areas than anything with the word 'Call' attatched to it's name, and this is coming from someone who got to Prestige Level 1 on Black Ops and only kept the game for Zombies content. The way cool thing about Killzone 3 is that i actually feel like i am getting involved in team firefights rather than just 'Quick Draw' crapolla with the CoD franchise. And as for visuals, Killzone 3 is still second to none, even after BF3 was released. An absolutely superb gaming experience.

I'm not a fan of COD games and I know the majority will say that they made KZ3 too COD like and I do agree that KZ3 was not as good as KZ2 but it just has a feel which is just unique. Warzone has got to be the most unique and the best MP mode there is in any game to date. I love BF3, in fact it is up there with KZ2 and KZ3 as my all time favourite FPS's but there is just something about Killzone games that are just special, I just wish KZ3 would of kept the hardcore fans and players as KZ2 did.

Yup, figured that out yesterday when I couldn't log in. Decided to make lemonade yesterday by playing Amalur instead. I hope that Guerilla offers a make-up 2XP weekend to account for the untimely maintenance yesterday.

I was going to send an invite (via the SSX thread), but it seems that you have reached the maximum number of friends for your account.

I was hoping that I would see more Blu-ray members on Killzone, but they're either on Netflix or MW3.

I have all three map packs, but since I play Guerilla Warfare very rarely, it's just a waste (especially the "Steel Rain" pack). "Retro Map Pack: Reclaimed Territory" and "From the Ashes" are worthwhile (especially for Blood Gracht and Radec Academy), so the DLC pack isn't a bad deal (basically a 3-for-2 package).

KZ3 is the only FPS I play on a regular basis (tried BF3 off-and-on for about a month, then it was just forgotten) and I don't bother with any of the COD incarnations online, so KZ3 is my only FPS fix.

Surprise! More Killzone In Development
Quote:
Jan-Bart van Beek, the art director at Guerilla Games, has told IGN that there is more Killzone in development. Avid franchise fans will be aware of Sony Cambridge’s work on a Vita outing for the series. That continues, with the studio now being embedded within Guerilla.

There is also an unnamed new IP project in the works from the main Guerilla Games studio and van Beek says they’re still working on supporting Killzone on PlayStation 3. It’s unknown whether he means further DLC for Killzone 3 or an entirely new Killzone project. Perhaps we might even see an HD re-release of the first Killzone.

The news came during a talk about the pitching process for new IP at the studio, in which van Beek mentioned how they go about coming up with ideas for new games. During that talk he mentioned a game called Dark Science which was a kind of spin on a steampunk Sherlock Holmes that evolved into a ’70s styled futuristic action cop drama in the vein of the Dirty Harry movies.

Dark Science was specifically stated to not be Guerilla’s next project, it was eventually halted, but it still sounds like an interesting idea. Hopefully we’ll see more of what Guerilla Games is working on at E3 this year.

A handheld version of Killzone would push me to get a Vita sooner than later. Killzone: Liberation was entertaining for me, even though it wasn't an FPS. More Killzone is never a bad thing in my book.
