That guy seems to be pretty reasonable in his assessments.
How I see things playing out. MP removes the unlimited and puts in the restriction of 4 per month for everyone. Price remains at $10/mo. Maybe an increase of a couple bucks but they don't make money from subscription so I don't see that happening. Definitely not the $30-$40 people are suggesting. They already had their service at a much higher amount and what it showed is that you don't get a ton of customers that way. You get the diehard, must see every movie people, but not the casual film goer. Marketshare and number of users is the only way they'll make money on backend deals and keeping the price at a point where people will buy it even if they only see 1 movie is in their best interest. |

Even $9.95 for four movies a month is an incredible deal.
The latest Facebook ad I saw is advertising one movie per week. If they do limit it, I hope they go with four movies per month as opposed to one per week. Every once in a while (like next weekend, April 27th, for example) we get a dud weekend where I'll have nothing to use it on. |

My city finally got imax so I find myself going to see movies on that screen. My MoviePass has gotten me to see a couple of movies I would have normally waited for. Overall I see 3 or 4 movies a month but I did go a month without seeing anything.
Problem with moviepass is I have to arrange my movie viewing time on movies that are eligible...meaning no Dolby Atmos screenings since they consider that “premium”. It shouldn’t be a problem since the movie theaters charge the same amount if it’s not. Moviepass is right about their customers spending more money on concessions with their service. I buy 12-15 dollars worth every time I use it. Since I spend my own money on imax movies —- meaning I’ll watch 2 of my 3 or 4 visits per month it’s not worth me continuing my subscription. I think the movie theaters are enjoying (except AMC) the increased concession revenue coming from moviepass subscribers and will miss it if Moviepass dies. |

$16 for a matinee in a non-reclining leather seat without food services. $25 ($16+$9 VIP fee lol) for a reclining leather seat with a waiter/waitress. ![]() They do have pretty good food deals on football days though. 50 cent wing specials and $2 beers. But I won't see a movie there. I have a Regal within a half a mile that has nice new reclining leather seats. |

They won't drop the movie a day...
When the three months ends for the iHeartRadio subscribers, they can convince them to stay using "a movie a day" line. This promotion heavily favors iHeartRadio and locks out new potential subscribers due to the restrictions of the promotion. The original "movie a day" plan will more than likely return either by the end of April or beginning of May |
