Just wanted to say thanks again for reminding me of GameFly rentals. It has great value to me because I can rent UHD Blu-ray which Netflix never offered.

Watched Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One last night. Quite a ride!!! Gave the subs a workout. A little bummed about the Rebecca Ferguson charter Ilsa Faust. Speaking of Ferguson, sometime back I procured the UHD Blu-ray of The Greatest Showman just for her on stage singing performance.

She is lip syncing though but still - I adore her so much.

Not easy to get really good audio on location. I believe many would be surprised at how much audio actually comes from a vocal booth or sound stage for movies. Those ADR folks and actors are to be commended for the job they do most of the time.

It would be interesting to see the methods used today. Our Adams-Smith controller would create countdown clicks to the edit point to help actors sync their audio to the video.

Does nothing to diminish the amazingness of it. I have a very unreasonable amount of crush on Rebecca. Anytime I revisit Dr Sleep it's only because she's mastered charm and I can never get enough. Never never !

OK, got it. I remember from Wikipedia that she attended the Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm and graduated in 1999 so just assumed

she was a trained singer.

At this rate, I won't make it to Black Friday.

And there is too much I want to buy. I wouldn't mind waiting but the OOP fear is always there...

Just learned from another video that Loren Allred served as a vocal coach to the actors for the Greatest Showman and Rebecca Ferguson was going to sing the song but it was Rebecca's idea for Loren's version to be used. Very interesting.

That's according to Loren on Britain's Got Talent show vid on yt.

With those prices it sounds like the Studios want to at least Break Even with their UHD 4K Discs Releases!

The Barnes & Noble sale starts today! All Criterion discs are 50% off, both online and in stores, through December 4.

Snagged Transformers Rise of the Beasts 4K disc for $8.99 from Amazon this morning.

I'll probably be making a CC purchase next week from the B&N sale.

I was thinking about trying a forwarding company for Criterion 4ks during the sale now that importing costs an arm and a leg. But now Criterion are releasing 4ks in the UK plus Studio Canal has some overlap, so not sure if I shouldn't just wait.

Quite a few I wanted: Double Indemnity, Uncut Gems, Raging Bull, Dazed and Confused, Malcolm X, etc.

In the irony department, I just got an email from Vudu stating my copy of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was upgraded to 4K UHD for free. That's a nice surprise.
