The only sad thing about all of this is that we know almost everything they are going to announce already. Summer with Monika, Being John Malkovich and Certified Copy are already confirmed, The Gold Rush is VERY likely, so, what is left? What about the upgrade !!? Completely in with Certified Copy and Summer with Monika. They shoud upgrade Taste of Cherry to go along with it. One of my favorite films.
Being John Malkovich?!?
This is what I miss when I'm not on the forum as much as usual.
I'm so there for that; that's the film I'm most excited about this year so far!

It came directly from Criterion, Arkadin, so I'd say that it's confirmed.

Don't forget the Downey Sr. Eclipse set that will probably be announced tomorrow as well.

Unfortunately, I have many of the Eclipse sets, but not that one.

As for TF, I guess they only printed a limited amount of copies and then made it look like a hot seller by ironically having a big sale the day of the release....

Or you could say that it was masqueraded by the fact that it was Valentine's day and they knew there would by no 'love' for the release....

Either figment of my imagination sounds good to me....

TF sold out because every other new release sold out as well (even shocking to most of the blu-ray people here, the dvds like the Gorin set as well). It wasn't just TF. It was a bunch of people blind buying crap just because it's Criterion.

That's funny... I have an extra sealed copy of the Gorin Eclipse set and I can't even unload it on eBay for $25. I'll keep trying.

Oh I have but they haven't responded. So if anyone out there has purchased the three colors set recently, like this month, I should much like to know if it was the second print. Thanks.

FTFY, as a lot of people only saw the percentage off, and didn't care about what they bought, just that stuff was half price. Even when stuff went OOS, and Criterion offered the REDO code, people are still whining because not all titles are getting the REDO discount applied to them.

Criterion seems to have been really tight lipped about the May release announcements I don't think they even teased any cover art etc did they? and not even a Tweet about posting the titles. Have they ever posted them this late at nite?

Although Not really into spoilers until I see their listings

There are two things about the internet that constantly clash:

-People love to complain on the internet. It's the opposite of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything" idiom. People who are happy about something often don't feel the need to tell other people, but people who don't like something can't help but tell the world about it.

-A staggering number of unique individuals comment on the internet, yet it's very easy to aggregate those comments into one screaming voice. For instance, it's very unlikely that anyone who complained that Tiny Furniture should have been Certified Copy also complained that Certified Copy was a waste of a release, yet the quoted comment suggests that there are such people.

So what happened here is that a group of people complained that Tiny Furniture should have been scrapped in favour of Certified Copy, and were then (mostly silently) happy about the Certified Copy hint. Another separate group of people complained that Certified Copy was a bad choice, and were either silently happy or indifferent about Tiny Furniture being released rather than Certified Copy.

what about the people that don't care about either film and just wish Criterion would get back to what they do best--delivering world cinema classics in the best presentation possible for home enjoyment.
It seems obvious at present that this "ain't your father's Criterion".

Criterion should release some Naruse on blu-ray. That would make everyone happy
