I hit the big 5-0 in March, so I'm basically there already. My wife is very much an optimist and bubbly person so I'm not sure how she's put up with me for the last 20 years. I guess we balance each other out.

I'm hoping to place a big order with Disney Movie Club in the next few weeks. I have saved my one time 60% off from when I hit VIP status almost 2 years ago, so I'm almost ready to use it. I have 11 titles in my cart and may add a couple of more. Not a bad way to kick off 2024.

2025 for me. Just a quiet meal will do me, I’m not a party guy.

March you say? That will fly past and be here before you know it.

I have been collecting films half my life and enjoying them for 85%. Of my lifetime.

Yeah, my wife asked if I wanted a party because we had one for her 50th but I declined. My 50th and our 20th wedding anniversary are in the same week so I think we're going to rent a cabin in the mountains for the week and just relax. And watch lots of movies. That's more my speed.

I started collecting movies on VHS when I was around 12 and have collected on pretty much every format since. It has and always will be an integral part of my life. Ideally I'll pass away peacefully watching a movie in my home theater when I'm 110.

Brothers from a different mother. Apart from the wife bit, no one will have me.

If you haven't looked into the mail order brides I think it's worth a shot.

There really is someone for everyone. You just may have to expand the places you look. Is it really important to have someone you can talk to ? I think that's nice but maybe not the most important thing.

That's a big leap to assume Steedeel has no one to talk to just because he's not married.

No I was trying to say with a mail order bride the person may speak another language.

In some places eligible women outnumber reasonable men by such a large amount that a change of scenery is welcome.

Personally I think conversation is the best part of any relationship.

For me, sex is the best part of my relationship with my wife but conversation is also good.

I'm very fortunate to be happily married for many years and still enjoy all aspects of marriage like it's day one.

I just jest mate. I do have convenient companionship every so often, which is more than enough for me.

I kind of like my own space to be honest.

Absolutely no problem, I have nothing to hide and took absolutely no offence at the question, it’s quite nice to get to know members better anyway.

The big 50 was in the rear view mirror a couple of years ago for the wife and I. Although this is a milestone year for us in a couple of ways.
Most years, I celebrate my birthday in March like you, but this year, I'll actually have a proper birthday - only my 13th - although it will mark 52 years on this planet ..LOL..

God willing, the plan is to spend our 25th anniversary in Glasgow for the day and winding up in London by midnight...

She is very much the Ying to my Yang...Lol... me being a chubby, balding, beer swilling meat eater that has the dimmest view of humanity... and her a tree hugging, vegan, yoga practicing, smoking hot woman that never ceases to see the best in everyone she comes across...

Have you ever cooked a meal for someone ? That as a non verbal but very effective means of communication.

In an ongoing lawsuit regarding buying itunes media (which is actually renting) Apple's defense is..

“Apple contends that ‘[n]o reasonable consumer would believe’ that purchased content would remain on the iTunes platform indefinitely"

I agree with that statement; it's unreasonable for anyone to think that a one-time purchase would guarantee ongoing support for the rest of your life. No digital providers should be required to provide ongoing support, the best case scenario is that they stop using the term "buy".

That's why physical media will always be superior: ongoing support isn't required.

By the way, the article you linked to is from 2021.

Default Is Physical Media Dead?

Well here we are in 2024 Best Buy is wrapping up their Disc Sales, and CES did not show any Disc Players. Here is a great discussion put on by Bill Hunt (Digital Bits) and Kris Deering (Deep Dive A/V) with John Schuermann and Steve Crabb from TSRAV. Their knowledge is unmatched and they map out where Physical Media is headed!
