Well, the LCR and RC-10's sounded pretty good right out of the box, but I noticed over time their tone changed and lower frequencies became more pronounced, and highs became smoother. I found the balance between the frequencies began to even out. At about 40 to 50 hrs I noticed a significant change and thought they sounded great and then about 80 to 90 hrs I still noticed more change as described above. This may have all been just in my head, but I could swear I noticed the difference as time progressed. By 80 to 90 hrs is when I think I heard the most change and they were pretty much the same after that; well balanced across the frequency range and nice detail. It's amazing now much I hear with these speakers that I've never heard before, very subtle things like someone breathing or crackling of gravel under someones feet as they walk. It was definitely and eye opening experience for me. I had an Infinity center and Yamaha floor standers before these and I always thought I had a pretty nice set up before.

![]() I'm leaving to go to home depot to get some sand and look for that quakehold again. The web site says they have it so I'm going to look for it again. Then I'm off to take the drug screen to start my new job. ![]() |

I can not take it anymore. Will be getting one of those LCRs from ebay sometime next week. I dont want to lose out on a great product. I just have to pay off my current purchase before i make another.
I was not planning on getting the RC-Rs for my rears but get Axioms QS8s instead. Now if i can find a great deal on the energies i would love to keep it all in the family. This system would serve me well for many years. I dont know what it is but ive fallen in love with this brand I also have the speakers on being broken in by 30 Seconds to Mars whike i am away at work. I am hoping to get in about thirty hours before my poker party and speaker unveiling tomorrow Both Mikes, how long did it take for shipping of the LCR to your respective houses? Don't miss out on the RC-LCR. If you have to get Axiom QS8s for surrounds, you will be fine, they make nice speakers and Im sure the sound wont be to far off in HT, so you should be fine. |

OK, so I got my sand at Home Depot this morning. They had the sand used for pool filtration systems but the "play sand" was cheaper and just as good so I got it. The sand appears to be very clean and dry. It even says on the bag, "screened, washed, and dried." It was also well packaged in a thick plastic bag so it's nice and dry.
After searching for quakehold or an equivalent at 4 different places, I decided to try Stine, and found the item below called Blue Stik. Each bag comes with 4 sticks that look like each stick (once rolled into a ball) would be just the right size to fit in each corner of the stand, so I bought 2 packs, one for each speaker. Now all I need is to get some used panty hose from the wife tonight and I'll be all set to fill my stands tomorrow. |

I personally like the tranparebt rubber disc that I fix to my stand and the gloss finish of the Speaker makes it stick to it, don't forget to also put some of that blue glue under your center channel or use rubber disc that is used to absorb kitchen cabinets. |

You know Olivier, I was thinking about that center channel and if I should put something under it. I have the little rubber tabs that came with the speaker attached and sitting on that glass shelf. I was wondering if I should add something or not. Can you elaborate on the "rubber discs," as I'm not sure what you're talking about. LOL

Well, as I mentioned before. I have completely been enamored by Energy speakers so I went ahead and purchased the RC-LCR and RC-R to finish out my system from eBay. I am now very excited. I have never owned a high-quality system before and now Energy will do that for me.
I did not really want to pull the trigger just yet but I did not want to lose out on the current stock of new speakers and I did not believe the prices would do down much if I waited around and risked losing out getting a whole matching set of speakers. My little 14'x14' room is going to be rocking pretty hard. |

Well, Steve and the gang here suggested I use a museum putty like "Quakehold" to adhere the speakers to the stands to keep them from falling off accidentally. I think they also help a little in vibration reduction between the stands and speaker if I'm not mistaken.

Steve, the sand was $3.40 for a 50 lb bag at Home Depot. It was sold inside next to the concrete. In fact its the quikrete brand, same as the concrete.
