I'm itching to see this for a third time. I saw all the big movies this year. Guardians is easily the best, in my opinion. I haven't had that much fun at a movie since The Avengers.

Guardians isn't just one of my favorite comic book films, it's one of my favorite films period. Might sound like hyperbolic praise to some, but sometimes movies connect with you to the point where they become instant favorites.

I think, since Disney now also owns Lucasfilm, that it would've been great if they used the old Howard costume rather than a CGI Howard.
The CGI Howard is how he's supposed to look. -_-

I've seen most of the Summer Blockbusters this year.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the only one i watched twice. The most easiest and breeziest 2hrs in the cinema for quite some time.

However, best movie imo goes to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, GOTG, and Edge of Tomorrow (which I originally had ZERO interest in) were the best.

X-Men: Days of Future Past and How to Train Your Dragon 2 at 4th & 5th.

Upcoming: TMNT, Sin City, and Expendables 3. I think that'll round off the summer of 2014 for me. My gf kinda wants to see Lucy, we'll see.

i disagree, he looks like a cheap anorexic puppet in gotg

whereas the original film looked like howard in the comics (he also wore a suit) but had some life in him though he may have been too big since it was an actual person in duck suit

Default Guardians of the Galaxy

Howard in the comics didn't wear pants, though At one point Disney took action against Marvel to force him to wear them, but Steve Gerber did everything he could to go against it.
I don't see how you could think the original movie Howard looked more like the comic version than the one we got in GOTG.

By the way here's an interesting read about the history of Howard and the lawsuit from Disney

Lay off Howie!
[Show spoiler]The Collector had him locked up and barely fed him. Heck, I bet he was starving him so he could just have his body.

Do negative posts ever make you ?

Silly Complaints:

I didn't like how Peter was right handed.
I cannot believe his Grandpa would leave him alone
[Show spoiler]in the hallway at the hospital.

Who were those other people in the beginning? Why didn't they tell us?
Drax tattoos were reversed. WTF!
Rocket spelled his name Rockit!
The Nova Corp ships looked like they belonged in The LEGO Movie.
Why were there so many humanoids in space?
The Milano had more red than blue buttons.
Ronan was a butthead for
[Show spoiler]being so easily distracted. I mean, if Gamora flashed him I could see how he would be distracted.

Star-Lord would lose a dance off with Captain America.
Nova Prime. Why didn't she say her catch phrase from her other big Disney movie, "woof-woof!"
Yondu? How about Yanni?

Of course only some of those were real complaints from previous posts.

I am trying to think of a way to sneak out of work to see it without my wife checking the bank account before the 2 hrs is up.

Heck, I am willing to risk sleeping on the couch for this movie!

Reading the first few pages in this thread is quite amusing now that it's been released (and a massive successes).

I saw this recently in an Easter Egg article about all the hidden stuff in the MCU movies. One thing came to my attention:

As I am sure you are aware, one of the hidden items was in the first Thor movie- The Infinity Gauntlet in the vault. You had to really be quick to still frame and find it (if any of you can locate a still shot and include in your reply that would be great)

The image shows the gauntlet with all the different colored infinity stones already. Unless my eyes are bad. How can that be?
Clearly he is in the process of locating them- Cosmic Cube (Tessaract), Aether, and Loki’s Staff are all rumored as “stones”, plus the actual purple “power stone” in Guardians.

So my understanding of Thanos’ glove is he has to track down all the stones, put them in the gauntlet, and then bam!. So the questions:

1. How could the gems already be in the Gauntlet? Was this an oversight on Marvel’s part as they were in early stages of releasing these movies and really weren’t sure to what degree of success and popularity they would attain. So kind of no harm no foul to stick it in there
2. If the rumors are true about the various items representing different stones, how does he transfer their power into the stones?

You kind of just answered your first question with your second question.

What I believe is that all the infinity sources we've seen (the Tesseract/Cosmic Cube, Loki's staff, the Aether, the ingot/orb, and so on) are just that --- Sources!

The gemstones that are in the Infinity Gauntlet right now are just vacant vessels that have the ability to absorb, harness and control the transferred energy from the original sources. Once the energy is transferred and the glove is powered by each source, the original sources become dead vessels.

Like you said, it was just early on in the game and the set and prop designers probably just created the prop up knowing it would get people talking. Same goes for a Captain's shield in Iron Man being finished yet in the second film being partially made. That said, you could probably make the excuse that Odin has put fake power stones onto the Gauntlet to ensure no one gets that kind of power, and he attempted to hide the other stones.

I like my answer better.

When the time comes, I really don't see them taking the time to show Thanos removing fake stones from the glove and replacing them with new ones that aren't even shaped the same.
