Mine will be a Friday night or Saturday morning viewing, for sure. If I get through the Battle for the Lost Planet/Mutant War Blu from Vinegar Syndrome before then, that is.

Yep. Might be the best blind buy in my collection, and is certainly my favorite CR release outside of the obligatory SavageNeonMessiahBeforeDawnSurvivor discs.

Bill and DD's latest live feed has gone up, at the above link. 20 minutes. I didn't hear anything about films, although people commented in the feed about a couple, so I might not have been able to hear it, or they were having a different conversation in the feed. Bill seemed in slightly higher spirits with a slightly louder voice and also seemed a bit clearer headed, so the dialysis is starting to clear those built up toxins, which means he'll be feeling a lot better over the next week. If I remember right, he should be, mentally, mostly himself within a couple of weeks of starting that treatment, so don't ask him about The Farmer. Glad to see he is improving.

For those worried about the films, DD will be working with a member of Bill's family to get more SoaWN to put up in the store.

EDIT: But a step in the right direction (maturing the business) would be to start taking pre-orders. Most of us are patient for pre-orders and understand valid delays. Yep, more unsolicited business advice...I know.
The difference between DF's method and VS's method is one of labeling and advertising. DF could have put up a pre-order, sent out word, and then capped it at whatever amount Bill set, even all 1000, with an expected shipping date of a month or even two after it would be ready to ship, so he could beat the clock, as it were. Instead, he just put it up for order.

Pre-order Discussion....
[Show spoiler]
Part of the reason so many in my circle love VS is that they ship "early". These are mostly old people and they don't always think things through, anymore. So, they think VS is beating the clock when, in reality, VS are the ones who set the clock in the first place. It's like when Scotty says he needs 20 hours, but gets it done in 20 minutes. If you set the clock, you always come out ahead, if you want to. That's one of the reasons I love VS, they take a page from Scotty and set a clock so far in the future, they beat it even when their mailing is delayed. Genius and I kind of wish every label would do that.

DF just doesn't play around with the clock. He puts up the stock, when he has the stock in hand, not before, and he limits the number he buys in the first place, that number he'll have available on the site, to a number he can reasonably ship in the next week or so. Were Bill not in the hospital, DD would have finished shipping a couple of days ago, within the week he sets himself.

In the end, people who are complaining about this are complaining about a distinction without a difference. You pre-order, it ships in four weeks or you order three weeks later and it ships in one, adds up to a big fat zero on the difference in actual time, but people get upset when they have to order and then wait that week.

If DF is doing his own release, as with LV/FE and MMI, he can certainly consider that kind of model, the one that leaves him looking like a hero. However, when he is selling someone else's merchandise, he is limited to how many they sell him to begin with and, in this case, they are doing around 250 per deal, 200 for stand alone and then some for bundle deals.

The idea about pre-orders is not a bad one, when it comes to DF products. I don't know that, after all these years, Bill would want to do that, most particularly given who happens to be known for doing pre-orders, the kings of pre-orders. I just don't see that happening for CR products.

He's visiting Bill and both of them like doing the live feeds, which makes Bill feel better. Going there, which he would do anyway, has nothing to do with his priorities, unless you meant to say that the priority of lifting Bill's spirits over doing a few extra shipments that day is good, in which case I agree. DD should put Bill ahead of the business.

This is different than VS as there is no guesswork in how many releases you get per year or how much you end up paying per release. No matter what you end up paying $15 per release with this model. For a smaller label like Dark Force, something like this or similar (i.e. next 6 releases for $99) would fit better than the way VS does it as there would be no guesswork or tight deadlines involved. Plus it motivates the label, the faster the output the quicker you can collect the next round of subscription fees - assuming the customers like the output.
I love that idea for Dark Force. It would have to be more like $90 for five and you have to wait for one shipment or 100 for 5 and you get two shipments, though, in order for him to make any money.

You're not. Hundreds watch them live and afterwards, without posting anything, myself included, and some of us watch them in a group, myself included. I don't know why more people don't admit enjoying them, but we are around.

An hour in on the extended cut and can’t believe people flipped shit for this movie. This is some “Are You Afraid of The Dark” Nickelodeon type shit, but extremely boring and not suspenseful at all.
Transfer is good, but fart overall

I agree, the film has been posted on youtube I recommend people watch it before they buy, it's a stinker.

There is irony here somewhere.

The most exciting release is one of the most boring films ever,
made even more interminable by the addition of 40 extra minutes!

Could have at least cut the theatrical cut out of the new master, but nope, theatrical version looks awful.

Then scalpers have dozens and dozens of copies,
over 60 to date, at almost $50 bucks.

And customers who want to buy are shit out of luck.

Jussie Smollett has his at together better than the DF crew.

Hmmm... I might buy this one. Never seen it, but it looks entertaining enough based on the trailer.

Mirror Mirror is one that I will actually watch for though I wish someone else would have gotten it. I though it was coming since they released the sequel already.

In this case it wasn't Dark Force's fault - the label is printed, not handwritten, and completely legible. It was the USPS that kept screwing up the delivery. Why, I have no idea, but since this release is being put out in drips and drabs, and since I already paid a chunk of cash for it and didn't want to have to re-purchase, I am glad I was able to finally get hold of it.

DF and DD are boastful about seeding chaos, so I would still assign the fault to them. USPS was simply their minion, right?

Glad your BD finally arrived.
