Greetings from the SCEE PlayStation Experience in London! We’re excited to be at the event, and for the first time, reveal how our duality/morality system will work in inFAMOUS 2.

Karma moments from inFAMOUS are now represented by character-driven dialogue and 3D mocap cutscenes. Your conscience comes into play with the introduction of Kuo and Nix, two NPC characters. Kuo is a NSA agent working to help Cole defeat the Beast. Nix is a New Marais native that grew up in the swamps around New Marias, whose hatred for Bertrand stems from witnessing him kill her family. She is your hedonistic guide that coaxes Cole into not thinking about the consequences of his actions.

There will be multiple crossroads where Cole will decide to follow Kuo’s lead or give into Nix’s temptations. Your choices will directly affect the gameplay by permanently remaining in the world. Whatever path you choose, remember that in inFAMOUS 2 you can always change your mind. It’s never too late to look for redemption… or to say “to hell with it” and become selfish.









Attendees of the show will get to go hands on with the Good or Evil version of the “Save Kuo” mission. Two allies. Two plans of attack. A choice to follow Zeke’s plan and get the help of the captured police by taking out the convoy guarded by the Militia, then assaulting the Militia compound with the army of cops to free Kuo. Or, side with Nix and her destructive plan to ram a trolley filled with explosives through the front gate. The choice is yours!

Lol! But they've made it easier to climb in this one, didn't they? Plus, I haven't seen towers as big as Infamous besides that one clock tower.

inFAMOUS got a CE/LE in Europe and now it seems rarer for a game to only get a single edition!

I'm guessing those DLCs mentioned will be pre-order DLCs? I'd prefer to go with the 3 extra missions, or the exclusive power if it's cool. But they'd all be available eventually, i got the Gigawatt Blades from the PSN and never used them.

Zeke's plan saw us chasing after Militia trucks full of captive cops. We chased them through the streets and battled goons on the roof of each vehicle, while free-running between each truck to avoid gunfire. It's incredibly slick and fast-paced stuff, and even when we managed to stop the trucks and release the cops, the pace kept on mounting.

Rallying the police into a rag-tag army, Cole and the cops storm the front gate of the Militia plantation house, resulting in a hectic battle between both forces on the lawn, with Cole thinning out the ranks with his powers and his new Amp melee weapon. Hammering square resulted in Cole battering goons with this massive conductor with bone crunching force. Its insanely powerful, but a real treat to use.

We came across the bunker where Kuo was being held, but Cole was blown aside by mortar fire, which then saw us destroying gun placements before proceeding. We also took time to jump in the garden's water fountain to see how water affected Cole, and we almost died in a few seconds. This is indicative of how difficult the new marshland areas will be, as water is most definitely lethal to the touch.

Once the battle was over, we rescued Kuo, but seemed to inadvertently release another super-powered captive in the process. He appeared to be wearing a robot suit, and as he broke free from his confines and out into the city our demo ended. We then moved on to Nix's method, which saw us leaving the captured cops, hijacking a tram car and using electric bolts to power it and ram our way through the plantation gates.

We didn't have the police on our side, and the tram ride killed a lot of pedestrians as it tore through the streets, but we did have Nix by our side. She's really tough, teleporting around like some maniacal Nightcrawler and unleashing fire attacks at Militia troops. Once we rescued Kuo, the end result was the same, but we were told that after players make a choice, the city can be irreparably scarred as a result of Cole's actions, and this will shake up the plot considerably.

The city of New Marais itself is beautiful and rammed full of colour to give it a real Mardi Gras vibe. The streets are also well-populated with pedestrians that react to how we behaved, cowering in fear whenever we let rip with Cole's powers. The city feels alive as a result, and we felt like we had a real impact on the people that lived there.
We came away confident that inFamous 2 will far surpass the stellar work laid down by Sucker Punch in the original, and provide a huge campaign full of replay value. Its looking very polished indeed, and we can't wait to get hands-on time with the finished game.

Call me crazy, but I think there's a chance with all I'm seeing that Infamous 2 might give ME3 and Uncharted 3 a run for their money in the GOTY 2011 battle.

The Ray Sphere is in this one too? Cool! It does make you wonder what new powers Cole would get if he got his hands on it. Teleportation might be one of them.

I just MIGHT have to get this game along with all the other hot titles I want this year. At least for this game there's NO multiplayer or stupid co-op crap! Yay for doing a SP game right for once.

IMO, co-op is nice, if done right.
