Anyone knows if Season 4 (separately) includes slipcover?
Thanks. |

I don't think I've ever received something so damaged in the mail. Every single bluray case in the box is damaged. They either don't close or are broken inside so the discs lay loose.
Any point in returning it though? Ordered from Zavvi so I might just get another one just like it. |

I wouldn't give it a blanket no, they do often have good bargains, and in these cases I'm more than willing to put with a bit of damage to the packaging (Community S1-4 £25 instead of the £60 AMZ charged. Star Trek TOS £45 instead of £85.)

Both the UK and US releases either feature DTS-HD MA or LPCM in the case of Season 4 and the US release of Season 3, of which you must select the LPCM track as it will default to the DD track.
What is different is I believe that some scenes are cut/missing in a few episodes in the UK releases. I don't remember which ones though. |

So what's the verdict on cut scenes? I still have my sealed US box set that I never got around to opening. I'd prefer to keep it sealed and pick up the UK box as backup at this great price. But not interested if there's any missing scenes. I watched the US broadcast and it was perfect.
Any diehards on here watch both the US broadcast and UK box notice any difference? Storyline cuts or even mild cuts to violence etc? |

They're not "cut" as such and it only affects the double length episodes in (I think) Seasons 4 and 5. I did a side by side comparison of the US and UK sets about 2 years ago (and I've lost my damn notes!) but I'm 99% sure it was just these.
All of the double length episodes are presented the same way on both sets, except the finales of 4 and 5, where the UK set splits the episodes "as produced" and the US set has them "as originally broadcast". This leads to some scenes being edited slightly differently and the order of some scenes being altered. It's only really noticeable during 'The Incident' (the season 5 finale) but it doesn't change the plot in any way. If there is anything missing I'd really like someone else to confirm. One of these days I'll go back and re-check everything but I know absolutely it only affected 2 of the seasons on blu-ray. As far as I'm aware there have never been any cuts to Lost for content or violence or whatever. |

"some scenes being edited slightly differently and the order of some scenes being altered."
It sounds to me then that the UK version is preferred (for purists) according to this, since the scenes would have been altered for the original broadcast. My main worry was having content removed from the UK version. I think I'm going to pick it up because I just don't feel like opening my giant collector's box. I feel it will be very hard to get one day. |
