Had a nice surprise with some CEX deliveries recently. Ordered the Predator Trilogy 4K set and complete Mission Impossible 4k set off their site. Both arrived near pristine condition.

Also been hunting for the Arrow Academy's release of the Witches with booklet to complete my Pasolini collection. Decided to give up and just order off CEX as was only £5, with the intention of to pick it up again if I find it with a booklet. It turned up today, not only in pristine condition, but also with the booklet fully intact.

Not a Pasolini directorial work, but I can recommend Arrow’s BD of Carlo Lizzani’s 1967 spaghetti western Requiescant, to see the great Italian master in a rare acting role. It was issued in both Regions A and B.

What’s the best way to remove those over-sized stickers from cardboard without leaving lots of residue? Recently ordered a digipack and of course there’s a massive one on there.

OOP titles in CEX Ipswich:
Histoire(s) du Cinéma (DVD) - £28
The Sting - £12
Night of the Demon - £32
A Fistful of Dynamite - £32
Deep Red - £60

Was about to buy Don't Look Now steelbook for £18, but they store them with every other Blu-ray on the shelves (!) and there as a scratch on the back

Picked up the Arrow release of Sixteen Candles in Norwich today for £5. No slipcover but it did have a booklet, which was a nice surprise.

I didn't realise The Sting was oop. Why have Universal let that happen? A 4K would be nice.

Must admit I had a chuckle when looking at what they bought Breaking Bad blu-ray seasons for, with the exception of one season they offer a penny!

Why do CeX charge postage for each item? Had 7 times in my basket and the shipping was £13, only £10 more than my actual order!

Because your order maybe dispatched from 7 different stores. Before the change there was a flat-rate with a limit of 10 items.

Like I posted it would be helpful if they could include flat-rates from larger stores, so you could pick one store and have a bulk delivery.

Yeah that would make a lot more sense. I thought I’d grabbed a bargain getting Supernatural Season 1-7 for £23 until I saw the postage costs.

It does mount up. I rarely use them anymore, just the odd item. I used to regularly get a batch of 10 cheap titles for £2.50 shipped. Now that would cost more than twice what I used to pay.

You can get Supernatural Seasons 1-8 for about £25 from the Amazon marketplace if you're interested.

I usually pop in store and have a gander but I'm not going to in there any time soon so thought I'd look on the website. I've been made an offer for Season 1-9 for £30 on eBay so I'm just debating on whether to accept. Season 10 seems to be OOP and really rare.

They used to offer free shipping back like in 2011, then years later £1.50 for all in the cart, and now they charge £1.95 for each item.

Compared to CeX in Portugal (€3.50 ~ £3.15), it's still cheaper. I suppose people order a lot thorough their website even though it's a rip-off price.

They do it because they can, basically.

i think it was on here back when it was £1.50 postage, people were buying a ton of cheap £1-3 blu-rays like 20-30 at once so i think that may have been the cause to some of it happening

It was a good deal, but now buying even the cheapest items will cost more in shipping so.. nah.

Can't be arsed with buying from Cex any more (but I will still sell to them). The final straw was buying a 4K UHD of Coppola's Dracula yesterday and discovering that it had two blu-rays inside. Some cheeky git had handed that over and the staff were too clueless to notice the lack of a '4K Ultra HD' label on either disc.

Luckily I checked the contents before leaving the store. The two counter staff didn't understand what I was talking about and it took a supervisor or manager to verify that there wasn't a 4K UHD in the case. Yeah, I got a refund but it was very annoying, I've heard of folks ending up with a wrong version of a film on disc but not the wrong format.

btw Ordered it online instead which is what I should have done in the first place! Bollox to Cex.

Had a new experience with CEX today. Ordered Glee Season 3 on Blu ray. It arrived with all 4 discs kept within a 1 disc case. My guess is the original case was broken so they felt letting 3 of the 4 discs remain loose in the case was the next best thing.
