Robert Zemeckis: We looked at it. Yeah, it didn't look right.

Amusingly, the menu for the trivia track is made to look like a newspaper and one of the headlines is "Movie Title Missing Punctuation".
Hey stupid question does the commentary have subtitles?

Not on the Vista Dvd, but I noticed on Lady/Tramp, Pinocchio, Bambi, Walt's Alice, Snow White Blu Ray have subtitles for their Commentaries so Roger's Commentary will have subtitles along with future Disney Releases that recieve Commentaries

Ok, I don't know why reading subtitles and pop-up facts during the movie doesn't bother me but listening to the commentary over the dialogue does

Same here Puppy, I mean I don't mind hearing the commentary but I do appricate subtitles for them.

Zavvi.com has released info for the UK Roger Release, March 25th, I hope Disney ports this Steelbook over to US, that'll look great next to Beauty/Beast's Steelbook

Sorry if this has been asked already (447 comments is a lot to read through), but does anyone know yet if this is the original theatrical version of the censored DVD version from last decade?

Gorgeous looking Steelbook. Just pre-ordered it. Been looking forward to this movie on BD. They sure beat HMV price wise and especially in the shipping. Fingers crossed it will be region free.

Edit: Never ordered from Zavvi before.

Those bastards. Not that I remember the original version, but I don't like things being tampered with after it's been released. So you can imagine I am no fan of what George Lucas has done

Both Baby Herman and Jessica's characters have been altered due to the revisions. Baby Herman is no longer a filthy pervert and Jessica no longer goes commando.

How are these changes not significant?

It's like a different movie now....

Exactly! It's not like they're in different places in the movie!

I remember going to the theater to see this and never paid attention to these scenes as it wasn't known then about them. I also remeber a scene where Eddie & Roger are in the theater and a newsreel comes on about Mr. Maroon and Eddie says "That's it that's the connection!" And then it cuts to Eddie's car pulling up to the studio and Mr. Maroon is waiting in the window with a gun. Now what's cut out is Eddie goes out to the lobby of the theater picking up a pay phone and calling Mr. Maroon and ask's him "Hello Mr. Maroon, Do you have a Bromo handy?" (not sure if the word bromo he uses but that's how it sounds must be a drink for bad news). That scene I remember clearly! it's a short scene but may explain why Mr. Maroon is looking out the window with a gun like he's waiting for someone

I don't mean to bug anyone when I ask this, but does anyone know if they have decided to address the cropping issue for this release? Aside from what's expected of aspect ratios, I became rather suspect when I compared some shots on both DVD's. The most notable one being when they pan over Valiant's desk.

Jessica's forehead is also cropped out in one spot. Wasn't she full-framed in theaters?

This release looks very open matted. A comparison on DVDizzy (A site which was just ruined for me) has a widescreen vs fullscreen comparison shot of the scene when
[Show spoiler]Roger's in the fridge right after taping.
The trailer for the bluray actually has that scene and it shows even more height than on the fullscreen and I haven't checked about the sides, but you should be good
