I've got some good news for those that ordered this on Tuesday, but didn't receive a code for the digital copy. I placed an order around 8 o'clock that morning and I never received a code. I sent them an email later on in the day, and they responded on Thursday that I would have a code within 24 - 48 hours. I just now received my code. I f you ordered on Tuesday, but didn't receive a code, send them an email. I can't guarantee that they will send you a code, but it doesn't cost anything to send them an email. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This movie is so awesome, that you must see it, soon. The earlier, the better. Good luck.

I would hold out. Usually closer to release day they come back. Now to be honest this always isn't the case as with Captain America and Thor.
But I wouldn't just shell out $20 more just to get the SB. If you can, I would even try to go in the store on release day and get it.

While the online allotment appears to be sold-out (possibly), the in-store option is there for people but how many a store gets is still up in the air. Could be as few as 3-4 copies per store or 20+, we won't know until closer to release when BB employees on this site start posting numbers.

hoping it comes back. It is sold out online and no cards in-store. They had cards to pre-order cinderella with lenticular slip, PP2, FF7, and walking dead. But no Fury road

Make sure you check multiple locations yourself in-store, don't rely on the employees always knowing because some employees won't know of them. They could have the cards in the Blu-ray/DVD section that is located towards the front of the store, or in the main Blu-ray/DVD media section such as an end cap or up at customer service. Each store I have been to has the blister cards for pre-ordering but in various locations in the store.

I thought for as long as the preorder cards are still out, you can still be able to order 1. Isn't it?

Yes but some stores from what others have stated have either not received the preorder cards or don't know where they are, etc.

I went to BB today and bought the pre order. They had the steelbook pre-order card for $19.99. Got the digital code on the receipt, it's now in my UV collection.
The pre-order requires you to pick up by the 5th at the pick up counter, after which stock isn't guaranteed and they would swap for the regular version.

I could see stores getting 15 - 20 steelbooks, easily. Probably 10 for a shipper and another 10 for the new release pod. It all depends on the store, of course. We should start receiving these in by the end of next week.
