Long story short, I don't have a 4K player at the moment.

If I were to pick this up, I am terrified of getting a defective disc and not being able to tell since I can't "test" them. haha

Anyone know how long after a purchase WB support can provide replacement discs, etc. ?

I've returned 2 sets that were significantly dented. In the first set, half the 4k disks stuttered and skipped. In the 2nd, 2 or 3 stuttered and skipped. I'm thinking I'll pass on this shit release.

Oh, boy! It sounds like they really botched this release, huh?

I assume you returned the 2nd copy as well?

Is this also a problem with the regular 4K collection (not steelbook) or just a steelbook edition problem?

Now I am terrified if I eventually end up picking this up.

Yes, I returned both sets. I haven't bothered with the regular set. I'm assuming it's the same disks. It could just be batch related. But, I can do without the aggravation.

I went to 2 different BB's and had the employee's pull them from the back room for me.

The first BB had 2 sets. 1 set had spine slashes on every steel book. The 2nd was dented a little on the side but upon further inspection a steel book in the middle was completely warped.

Headed over to the other BB. They had 1 set. The steel books inside looked fine but the outer casing was really roughed up. The plastic was ripped off and the metal casing looked like a hammer was unleashed on it.

I just said screw it. Owning the steel books wasn't meant to be. I'm not spending $180 on banged up products. If BB want's to charge premium pricing for steel book sets they need to figure out a way to get them on the shelves or to the consumer in new condition.

Best Buy really needs to work on these steelbook sets with the metal cases around them. These cases either need to be manufactured out of sturdier material or handled/packaged better so they arrive to the stores in a decent shape.

Asking the high price for this set is unfortunate. I think this needs to get a serious discount to be honest, or at least the damaged ones.

Found what appeared from the outside to be a mint copy in store at my local today.

Couldn’t pull the trigger.

...$179.99 is still way too much for a set with so many reported disc problems.

Finally got around to checking my discs and for the first 2 seasons basically every disc skipped/froze in chapter 3 of the third episode on the disc. But in each case I ejected the disc, wiped it down thoroughly with a microfiber cloth (and a little fogging up the disc with my breath) and so far they've all played fine after that.

I haven't checked the rest of the seasons yet but have looked at the discs and they do all look clean. In the past with other HBO sets I bought new I have gotten discs that were scratched and/or had fingerprints on them - but at least they were always good about replacing them and hopefully I won't end up having to check on that with the GoT set.

Does anyone know how many days after purchasing this set WB Support would be able to help in case there are any issues with the discs?

This is a large set with hours of content. I worry I won't be able to thoroughly test such a set in just a few days.

Anyone have experience and know how long after they can help with replacement discs in case there is a need for them?

Where are others finding their code? i have no inserts anywhere in any of the steelbooks.
